Backforce has a new gaming chair in its lineup, the Backforce V, which impresses with exciting features and a really cool design that you can customize yourself. The goal of the German manufacturer Interstuhl, who is behind the gaming brand, was to achieve a more affordable price point of under 400 Euros without making any major sacrifices. We’ve already tried out the Backforce V and think: it’s succeeded.
Maximum ergonomics and chic design
According to the manufacturer, the Backforce V was specifically designed for long gaming sessions. To make that possible, ergonomics has obviously been given a high priority. Thus, the ergonomically shaped backrest is supposed to be optimal for your spine.
Relief for the intervertebral discs is provided by the integrated lumbar support, but unlike the Backforce One Plus, it is not adjustable. The synchronous automatic sounds exciting. This is supposed to ensure that the chair always delivers the optimal counterpressure to your back. This is supposed to provide the best possible seating comfort for people up to 192 cm tall and weighing a maximum of 130 kg. Unlike previous models, however, this is not manually adjustable, but adjusts automatically based on the user’s weight. However, I found the resistance of the backrest a bit too low during the Backforce V test sitting.
But quite obviously, the Backforce V is not only comfortable. The design is also convincing at first glance. For example, the high-quality fabric made of recycled material features a cool honeycomb pattern that is reminiscent of the cutouts of an ultra-light gaming mouse. But the fabric is not only ecological, it can also be customized – at least part of it. So you can craft your own patch when you order the Backforce V.
Gamer Pulse optional
At a price point of 399 Euros, Backforce obviously has to save money, so the illuminated Gamer Pulse on the back is no longer included and has been replaced with a black plastic cover. However, those who want to can of course upgrade the Gamer Pulse.
Speaking of customizations. Backforce has also saved on the armrests, instead of 2D armrests like on the Backforce One, there are only 1D armrests that can no longer be folded away. Only some special editions, which are a bit more expensive, include the 2D armrests. However, the 2D armrests from the Backforce One can be installed, as well as 5D armrests that can be bought later. If Backforce One users treat themselves to the upgrade to 5D armrests, Backforce V users may be able to get a bargain on eBay and upgrade to 2D armrests.
Another cost-cutting measure is the base, which is now made of plastic instead of aluminum. However, Backforce offers a 10-year warranty on this as well, so there’s nothing to worry about. The headrest now comes unscrewed and must be assembled by the customer – eliminating the need for a shipping company and saving on shipping.
