be quiet! has unveiled the Dark Power Pro 14 IO, a new high-end power supply that will be available starting September 1, 2026, in two power ratings: 1,300 and 1,600 watts. The series is 80 PLUS Titanium certified, supports PCIe 5.1 graphics cards, and—for the first time from be quiet!—can be controlled via the company’s own software. The market launch is scheduled for September 1, 2026, at prices of 439.90 euros (1,300 W) and 479.90 euros (1,600 W).

be quiet! had already revealed initial key details about the new IO series back in June at Computex 2026. With the official launch, prices, availability, and the complete technical specifications are now confirmed.

  • Two models: 1,300 W and 1,600 W, 80 PLUS Titanium and Cybenetics Titanium certified (up to 94.9% efficiency)
  • New: IO Center software for monitoring and control, including an electricity cost calculator
  • Switchable between single-rail and multi-rail operation as well as active and semi-passive fan modes
  • ATX 3.1 with native 12V-2×6 connector for PCIe 5.1 GPUs, four PCIe 6+2-pin connectors
  • Market launch: September 1, 2026, starting at 439.90 euros (1,300 W) or 479.90 euros (1,600 W)
  • 10-year manufacturer’s warranty

Software control has not been a feature of be quiet! products until now.

With the IO Center software, the Dark Power Pro 14 IO gains something that has never been available on be quiet! power supplies before: its own control interface. This allows you to switch the unit from multi-rail to single-rail mode, toggle the fan between active and semi-passive operation, and view real-time data on efficiency, fan speed, and power consumption in the dashboard.

It also includes an electricity cost calculator that displays the costs since the last startup, the total costs since initial setup, and a monthly projection. CEO Aaron Licht describes the power supply as “the pinnacle of our expertise in power supply development,” designed to combine uncompromising quiet operation with smart control.

Titanium Efficiency and Semi-Passive Cooling

Both models are certified to 80 PLUS Titanium and Cybenetics Titanium standards and, according to the manufacturer, achieve an efficiency of up to 94.9%. This is made possible by a fully digital control architecture featuring a full bridge, synchronous rectifier, and LLC technology, which is designed to reduce ripple noise and ensure more stable operation. The newly developed aluminum heat sink forms the basis for the semi-passive cooling system: At low loads, the directly integrated Silent-Wings fan remains off and only starts running when additional cooling is needed. A 6-pin fan motor with fluid dynamic bearings is designed to ensure a long service life and low power consumption.

ATX 3.1, PCIe 5.1, and Modular Cabling

As an ATX 3.1 power supply, the Dark Power Pro 14 IO natively supports the 12V-2×6 connector and is thus designed for both current and upcoming next-generation PCIe 5.1 graphics cards. Additionally, four PCIe 6+2-pin connectors are available for existing GPUs. The cables themselves are modular and shielded, and four cable clips of different sizes are included to help keep the cabling neatly organized. This is intended to improve airflow, especially in large cases. According to be quiet!, protection circuits against overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, short circuits, overheating, overload, and voltage spikes are included, as is a ten-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Who the Dark Power Pro 14 IO is Suited For

With this series, be quiet! is clearly targeting high-end systems: the latest high-resolution graphics cards, overclocked next-gen systems, and workstations for media production and rendering. However, anyone who is already building a gaming PC or is in the process of selecting components for a new system will likely be deterred by the Dark Power Pro 14 IO’s price point rather than its performance in the foreseeable future. 1,300 and 1,600 watts are, in any case, more than what’s currently needed for the vast majority of builds.

Conclusion

With the Dark Power Pro 14 IO, be quiet! is launching its most advanced power supply to date: Titanium efficiency, ATX 3.1 support for upcoming PCIe 5.1 GPUs, and—for the first time—its own control software that allows for flexible adjustment of rail and fan operation. Independent tests following the market launch on September 1 will show whether the premium price compared to classic high-end power supplies without software integration is worth it. For enthusiasts and workstation users who need a power supply in this performance class anyway, however, the Dark Power Pro 14 IO is likely worth a look right now.
