be quiet! Dark Rock TF 2: powerful top flow cooler presented

be quiet! releases the successor of the popular top-flow cooler from 2015. The Dark Rock TF 2 wants to convince with a strong performance despite its unusual design and also find space in smaller cases due to its compact form.

Dark Rock TF 2 as a low-noise dual cooler

The Dark Rock TF 2 is made of aluminum and surrounded by a brushed aluminum cover, as well as coated with black ceramic particles. A total of six 6mm copper heatpipes are said to provide good cooling performance for the top-flow cooler, which once again relies on the sandwich design with two heat sinks.

Four of the heat pipes are routed through the modified base plate in the successor model to reach the lower radiator including 32 cooling fins. Two 135 mm fans take care of the heat exchange: A Silent Wings 3 fan does its job on the upper side, while a conventional Silent Wings fan sits between the radiators. As maximum volume, be quiet! specifies 27.1 dB(A) at 100% PWM speed. Vibration-damping rubber elements on the fan are also supposed to minimize possible vibrations.

Powerful performance, high compatibility

In terms of thermal dissipation (TDP), the Dark Rock TF 2 is rated up to 230 watts – 10 watts more than its predecessor. Due to its design, the TF 2 should also be able to cool the motherboard components located around the CPU socket.

A high level of compatibility is also guaranteed. Thus, the be quiet! Dark Rock TF 2 can be used with AMD sockets AM4 as well as AM3(+) and Intel sockets LGA 115x, 1200 as well as 2011(-3) and 2066. It comes in at 163 x 140 x 134 mm and weighs 945 grams.

Price and availability

The be quiet! Dark Rock TF 2 will be available starting August 10 at an RP of €85.90. The manufacturer also offers a full three-year warranty on the cooler.
