Beats Fit Pro: in-ear headphones with Apple’s H1 chip launch in Germany

Apple’s Beats Fit Pro, which were introduced at the end of November, are finally coming to Europe. The in-ear headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC) will be available in stores in Germany and other European countries by the end of January. They rely on Apple’s H1 chip, which is also used in the AirPods 3, and are fully integrated into the Apple ecosystem.

The Beats Fit Pro in detail

The Beats Fit Pro launched in November 2021, first in the US and then in China. From the end of January, the in-ear headphones will also be launched in Germany and other countries. According to a tweet from Beats Japan, a sales launch should be expected on January 28. The German website, on the other hand, continues to speak only of “available soon”.

At the same time, the Beats Fit Pro are supposed to allow a particularly good fit and hold in the ear thanks to flexible wingtips, making them suitable for sports and demanding workouts. The earphones are IPX4 certified and thus protected against sweat and light rain.

Other features include active noise cancellation (ANC), automatic sound adjustment to the fit of the earphones (Adaptive EQ), and Spatial Audio for dynamic head tracking with surround sound. So the Fit Pro have inherited some features from the Apple AirPods Pro (our review).

From the 3rd generation of AirPods, however, the Beats Fit Pro inherits the skin sensor. It enables detection when the earphones are worn. If an in-ear headphone is removed from the ear, playback is automatically paused and resumed when the earbud is back in place.

According to current rumors, the Beats in-ears design will then be used in Apple’s upcoming AirPods Pro 2.

27 hours of battery life

Beats claims battery life of up to six hours on one charge, while the charging case provides juice for another 21 hours of runtime. This means a total of around 27 hours, which is a good value.

A five-minute charge is supposed to be enough to get the Earbuds ready for one hour of music playback via a quick-charge function. The charging case is charged via USB-C, wireless charging is not supported.

Also compatible with Android

The Beats Fit Pro are additionally controlled via the Beats app, which is also available for download on Android. In it, there is, among other things, a fit test, which allows a perfect fit of the in-ears. In addition, the app can be used to switch between listening modes (normal, ANC, transparency mode) and adjust the functionality of the touch-sensitive b button.

Price and availability

The Beats Fit Pro will initially be available exclusively through Apple’s online store. Sales are rumored to start as early as January 24, while shipping will then begin on the said January 28. From then on, the in-ears will also be offered in other stores, such as Amazon. The manufacturer’s RRP is 229.95 Euros.
