Beelink is expanding its modular ME-Pro ecosystem with a significantly more affordable configuration featuring just two drive tiers. Despite its lower entry-level price, this compact NAS supports a total storage capacity of up to 68 TB.
Energy-Efficient Pentium Chip as the Foundation
The motherboard of the new model features the Intel Pentium Silver J5005, an energy-efficient quad-core processor from the Gemini Lake family. It can be paired with up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. This model is clearly aimed at users who are primarily interested in simple file server or backup tasks and are less reliant on raw computing power.
Two M.2 and two SATA slots
In terms of storage, this affordable NAS offers space for a total of four drives: Two M.2 slots accommodate SSDs with up to 4 TB, while two SATA bays support hard drives with up to 30 TB. In total, this results in a supported total capacity of 68 TB—significantly less than the larger ME Pro with an AMD platform, but at a noticeably lower starting price.
More compact thanks to a one-piece chassis
A key selling point is the compact design: According to Beelink, the chassis volume was reduced by 50 percent compared to traditional HDD systems with two drive bays, thanks to a one-piece metal chassis. Despite its low price, the NAS is well-equipped in terms of ports:
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 2x 2.5 Gbps LAN
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C
- 1x 3.5-mm jack
- 1x HDMI
Modular design with a replaceable motherboard
Like the other models in the ME-Pro series, this variant also features a replaceable motherboard, meaning the case can theoretically be upgraded later with a more powerful board. Beelink has already released several configurations in the series featuring processors from AMD and Intel.
Price and Availability
The barebone version with a Pentium Silver J5005 costs 999 yuan in China, which is equivalent to about 130 euros or 147 U.S. dollars. A model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for the operating system is available for 1,499 yuan (about 221 U.S. dollars). A release date for availability outside of China has not yet been set.
