Beelink has expanded its ME Pro ecosystem with a new top-of-the-line model: The Beelink ME Pro NAS is now equipped with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, a new AMD chip, and, according to the manufacturer, is capable of holding up to 72 TB of storage. The announcement was made via Beelink’s official Weibo account; a global launch date has not yet been set.
In a nutshell:
- New Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 (Gorgon Point) with 12 cores, 24 threads, and a clock speed of up to 5.25 GHz
- Two HDD bays (up to 30 TB each) plus three M.2 slots (up to 4 TB each) add up to the advertised 72 TB
- NPU with 55 TOPS, plus Radeon 890M graphics for local AI functions
- Barebone price equivalent to approximately 630 euros; currently listed only in China
Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 instead of HX 370 in the Beelink ME Pro NAS
As recently as July, Beelink had unveiled an ME Pro version featuring the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, equipped with up to 256 GB of RAM via two SO-DIMM slots. The new version swaps out the chip for the newer HX 470 from the Gorgon Point generation. It offers a slightly higher clock speed (up to 5.25 GHz instead of 5.1 GHz) and a more powerful NPU with 55 TOPS instead of 50 TOPS; however, according to the datasheet, it now supports a maximum of only 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM.
So if you need a lot of RAM—for example, for virtual machines on the NAS—you’re actually better off with the older HX-370 version.
Technical Specifications of the Beelink ME Pro NAS at a Glance
| Component | Specification |
|---|---|
| Processor | AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 (Gorgon Point), 12 cores / 24 threads, up to 5.25 GHz |
| Graphics | Radeon 890M (integrated) |
| NPU | 55 TOPS |
| RAM | up to 32 GB DDR5-5600 (SO-DIMM) |
| Storage | 2x 3.5-inch HDD bays (up to 30 TB each) + 3x M.2-2280 slots (up to 4 TB each), for a total of up to 72 TB |
| Network | 1x 10-Gigabit Ethernet, 1x 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 |
| Ports | 3x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 1x USB4, 1x HDMI, 3.5-mm jack |
| Price (barebone) | 4,795 yuan, equivalent to about 630 euros |
Theoretically, it can even handle more: If you install 8-TB SSDs in all three M.2 slots instead of the officially advertised 4-TB models, the NAS can reach up to 84 TB. Whether that’s worth it in practice is another matter; at current prices for 8-TB SSDs, the flash storage alone would likely cost more than the entire NAS.
Price and Availability
In China, the barebone model costs 4,795 yuan, which is just under 630 euros. Beelink has not yet announced whether or when the device will be available in Europe. Its predecessor, featuring the Intel N150, successfully made the leap to Europe and is now available for around 315 euros, as is the more affordable 2-bay variant with a Pentium chip, which we’ve already covered. The HX-470 version has not yet appeared in the official ME-Pro store, which is consistent with the announcement that it is exclusive to China.
Analysis: Is it worth the wait?
For a home NAS with a genuine Ryzen AI CPU, a price equivalent to 630 euros for the barebone unit is fair, especially if you’re interested in local AI features like facial recognition in photo libraries or transcription. If you’re just looking for a quiet data storage solution for backups, you’re still better off with the more affordable Intel variants in the series or classic 2-bay NAS systems—especially since the current China-exclusive availability means dealing with import and customs fees.
Conclusion
The new Beelink ME Pro NAS with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 demonstrates one thing above all: Beelink’s modular motherboard concept works. Within just a few months, the manufacturer has managed to fit both Intel and AMD chips into the same chassis without making significant changes to the rest of the design. It remains to be seen whether the model will make its way to Germany, but the combination of 72 TB of storage and solid NPU performance is certainly exciting.
