BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ: QD OLED gaming monitor with 4K resolution and 240 Hz in a compact format

With the BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ, BenQ is expanding its gaming portfolio with a high-class QD OLED monitor that is clearly aimed at demanding gamers. The model combines a 4K resolution with a refresh rate of 240 Hz and uses a modern fourth-generation QD OLED panel from Samsung Display. The monitor thus addresses the current trend towards high-resolution, extremely fast displays that are designed for both competitive gaming and visually demanding titles.

  • 26.5-inch QD OLED panel with 4K (3,840 × 2,160 pixels)
  • 240 Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms response time (GtG)
  • HDR support with up to 1,000 nits peak brightness
  • AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and extensive color support

BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ: Focus on QD OLED technology and picture quality

At the heart of the BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ is a fourth-generation QD OLED panel. This panel technology combines the advantages of self-illuminating OLED pixels with quantum dot color filters, which ensures high contrast, precise colors and fast response times. With a diagonal of 26.5 inches, the monitor is comparatively compact, which makes it particularly interesting for desk setups where short viewing distances and high pixel density are required.

The native 4K resolution in combination with the screen size ensures a very fine display, while the refresh rate of 240 Hz enables an extremely smooth display even with fast games. The response time of 0.03 ms (GtG) is typical for OLED displays and significantly minimizes streaking and motion blur. According to the manufacturer, the monitor achieves a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits and is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified. Although this certification is considered the entry-level class in the HDR sector, the high contrast of OLED panels can still provide impressive HDR effects.

The EX271UZ is also positioned at a high level in terms of color reproduction. BenQ claims 99% coverage of the Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color spaces, making the monitor interesting not only for gaming but also for creative applications.

Gaming features, connections and suitability for everyday use

For smooth gaming, the BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which reduces image tearing and micro-stuttering at variable frame rates. The monitor is also well positioned ergonomically: Height adjustment, swivel function and tilt options allow flexible adjustment to different working and gaming positions. A KVM switch is also integrated, allowing quick switching between several connected systems.

In terms of connections, the monitor offers solid, albeit not entirely modern equipment. Two HDMI 2.1 ports – one of them with eARC – enable the connection of current consoles. There is also a DisplayPort connection, albeit only in version 1.4, which can be seen as a small disadvantage in the high-end segment. The range is rounded off by two USB-C ports, one of which provides up to 90 watts of power delivery, two USB-A ports (USB 3.2) and a classic jack connection. There are no integrated speakers, which is not uncommon for gaming monitors in this class.

To protect against OLED-typical burn-in, BenQ relies on several measures. A graphene film is designed to dissipate heat better, while functions such as Pixel Refresh, Pixel Shift and Logo Dimming support the long-term panel service life. However, a dedicated heatsink, as used by some competitors, is not used.

Conclusion

The BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ is positioned as a high-performance QD OLED gaming monitor that combines high picture quality with extreme frame rates. 4K resolution, 240 Hz and a very fast response time make it particularly interesting for ambitious gamers who value smooth gameplay and strong contrasts. Small compromises in terms of connectivity make little difference to the overall well-rounded package. At a price of 999 euros, the monitor is in the upper segment, but is available in stores now and is clearly designed to be future-proof.
