Beyerdynamic Blue BYRD: In-ear headphones get new edition in 2nd generation

The Bluetooth in-ear headset Blue BYRD from beyerdynamic gets a new edition. It combines beyerdynamic’s high-quality sound with versatile application options for full flexibility in everyday life. It is said to be characterized above all by smooth transitions between listening to music, phone calls, work, study or sports.

Various applications

The new Blue BYRD is versatile and impresses not only with its powerful sound, but also with an excellent microphone for the best possible voice transmission. In terms of Bluetooth Codsec, Qualcomm aptX Adaptive and AAC are also in the game, which speaks for a high-quality, virtually latency-free sound.

Thanks to Multipoint, it is possible to establish a Bluetooth connection with two devices simultaneously. The microphone can reproduce the user’s own voice signal via the earphones using the Sidetone function and thus allows a natural conversation situation during phone calls. In addition, the 8th generation Qualcomm cVc technology reduces unwanted interference and ambient noise to make the Blue BYRD a strong companion even in office use.

Bluetooth version 5.2 is used for communication, and the battery life should be around 14 hours according to the manufacturer. Thanks to IPX4 certification, the headset is protected against rain and moisture and can therefore also be used during sports. The universal 3-button remote also allows for flexible control of calls and media playback.

The flat shape of the housing is supposed to ensure a particularly high wearing comfort. The in-ears barely protrude from the ear and should not pinch even when lying down. Unlike TWS in-ears, the Blue BYRD is equipped with a neckband that can be folded compactly when not in use and stored in the included hard case.

All voice assistants included

Google Fast Pair makes pairing particularly straightforward. As an Amazon-certified headset, access to Alexa is also very easy, in addition to Google Assistant and Siri. The Blue BYRD can also be connected with the MIY app from beyerdynamic. This improves the sound of the Blue BYRD thanks to “MOSAYC – Attention to Detail with Mimi Sound Personalization”.

For this, an approximately two-minute listening test is carried out, thanks to which the sound and the settings are adapted to the user’s own hearing ability and preferences. In addition, the headphones can always be kept up to date with the latest technology using the app.

The new Blue BYRD visually relies on elegant decorative plates, which are made of anodized and diamond-cut aluminum. The neckband is made of high-quality silicone and features glass-bead blasted real metal at both ends. As usual, beyerdynamic offers many replacement parts, such as the earpieces, directly in the online store. Included with the headphones are already silicone earpieces in 5 sizes, a hard case and USB cable.

Price and availability

The 2nd generation Blue BYRD will be available starting Sept. 28 for a suggested retail price of 129.00 EUR at online store from beyerdynamic, as well as available on Amazon. It will also be available at select retailers starting Oct. 28.
