beyerdynamic DT in-ear series: Tailor-made sound quality for professionals

At the NAMM Show 2025 in Anaheim, California, the German audio technology manufacturer beyerdynamic presented a new series of in-ear monitors. With advanced technology, a precisely tuned sound profile and an ergonomic design, the DT in-ear series is aimed specifically at professional musicians, sound engineers and audiophiles who demand the highest standards of sound quality and comfort on stage or in the studio.

Highlights of the beyerdynamic DT in-ear series:

  • TESLA.11 driver system: exceptional clarity and minimal distortion of 0.02%.
  • Ergonomic design: Perfect fit and sound insulation down to -39 dB.
  • Robustness: Handmade in Germany, with IP68 certification for extreme conditions.
  • Individual models: Four specially adapted variants for different instruments and applications.

Precision meets German craftsmanship

The DT in-ear series is based on beyerdynamic’s dynamic TESLA.11 driver system, which ensures exceptional sound clarity. With a maximum sound pressure level of up to 137 dB and a distortion of just 0.02% at 1 kHz, the new in-ears are among the most precise in their class. Thanks to careful craftsmanship in Heilbronn and the use of high-quality materials, the series offers exceptional manufacturing quality.

The ergonomic design was developed based on hundreds of MRI ear molds and ensures optimum wearing comfort. The compact design combined with sound isolation of up to -39 dB makes the models ideal for loud stage environments and demanding studio situations.

Four models for different requirements

The DT in-ear series comprises four models that are specially tailored to the needs of different applications:

  • DT 70 IE – MIXING & CRITICAL LISTENING: For live sound engineers and precise monitoring. Balanced sound tuning for critical listening and high-quality music enjoyment.
  • DT 71 IE – DRUM & BASS: Strong bass reproduction, reduced mids and concise highs – ideal for drummers and bassists.
  • DT 72 IE – GUITAR & VOICE: Natural bass reproduction, finely defined highs and boosted mids for a clear presence of guitars and vocals.
  • DT 73 IE – CLASSIC INSTRUMENTS & KEYS: Linear bass and mid-range reproduction for classical instruments, with precise overtones for pianists and orchestral musicians.

Each model is supplied with a Kevlar-reinforced cable and a gold-plated MMCX connector system. This is more robust than conventional 2-pin connectors and ensures a long-lasting connection.

Durability and live suitability

Three of the four models (DT 70 IE, DT 72 IE and DT 73 IE) are IP68-certified and can therefore withstand dust and water up to a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. The DT 71 IE complies with protection class IP65, which also makes it dust and water resistant. The robust design and technical features make the DT series ideal for the challenges of everyday live and studio work.

Availability and prices

The new in-ear models from beyerdynamic will be available from March 2025. The recommended retail price is 499.00 euros per model, including VAT. The products can be ordered via the beyerdynamic online store, Amazon and specialist retailers.

To launch the series, beyerdynamic has started a collaboration with the Martin Miller Session Band. Martin Miller praises the in-ear headphones: “The sound quality of the DT series has accompanied me in the studio for years. Now I can also experience this precision on stage.”

Interested parties can test the DT in-ear series live at the NAMM Show 2025 and be inspired by performances by Cory Henry and Gina Miles at the beyerdynamic stand. With the DT in-ear series, beyerdynamic sets new standards for professional in-ear monitors and combines uncompromising sound quality with outstanding comfort and durability.
