Beyerdynamic introduces DT 700 PRO X and DT 900 PRO X and two new microphones

Audio professionals Beyerdynamic are expanding their portfolio with two exciting new studio headphones (DT 700 PRO X and DT 900 PRO X) and two microphones (M 70 PRO X and M 90 PRO X), which are aimed specifically at content creators in the manufacturer’s new Pro range, but are expected to excel in all applications.

Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X

Here, the DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X differ primarily in terms of their construction. The DT 700 Pro X relies on a closed design that suppresses background noise better, while the DT 900 Pro X is an open headphone that lets all ambient details through.

Accordingly, the 700 model is aimed more at users who want to use the headphones for listening to music on the go, while the 900 variant is intended more for home use, or is designed for professional monitoring, mixing and mastering.

The STELLAR.45 transducer is supposed to provide outstanding sound, reproducing the best possible studio-quality sound loudly and powerfully. It uses a powerful neodymium magnet as well as a voice coil made of copper-clad high-tech wire. In combination with the newly developed three-layer loudspeaker cone with integrated damping layer, this creates a highly efficient driver system that performs well on all playback devices.

Impedance is 48 ohms, and both headphones also cover a high frequency band from 5 to 40,000 Hz and offer a sound pressure level @1 mW/500 Hz with 100 dB SPL and a sound pressure level @1 V/500 Hz with 114 dB SPL, respectively.

The Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X are connected using the included mini-XLR cable. Alternatively, a gold-plated stereo jack plug for 3.5 mm and an adapter to 6.35 mm are directly in the scope of delivery. The gray velour ear pads and memory foam in the headband are said to provide a high level of wearing comfort. The spring steel hoop construction also guarantees a long service life.

Beyerdynamic M 70 PRO X and M 90 PRO X microphones

As a microphone, the dynamic M 70 PRO X is primarily intended for live streams and podcast recordings, while the M 90 PRO X is a professional true condenser microphone. Here, the M 70 relies on a cardioid characteristic and covers a frequency response of 50 Hz to 18 kHz. It is optimized for recording the voice and should be able to suppress ambient noise effectively.

It weighs around 300 grams and is 185 mm long with a diameter of 52 mm. It also has an integrated pop filter and comes with a microphone spider and pop guard.

The M 90 PRO X, on the other hand, is aimed more at professional users and is designed for vocal or instrument recording in the studio. A frequency band of 20 Hz to 20 kHz is offered here, with Beyerdynamic promising a particularly low-noise signal at all volumes. The acoustics are to be represented particularly natural and warm.

Prices and availability

All four new audio products are available now from beyerdynamic’s online store. The DT 700 PRO X and DT 900 PRO X both have an MSRP of 249.00 euros. The MSRP for the M 70 PRO X microphone is also 249.00 euros, while the manufacturer is charging 299.00 euros for the M 90 PRO X.
