Bluetti EP600: Storage system is easy on the wallet and the environment

In the field of modern energy storage solutions, Bluetti is one of the most renowned manufacturers for private customers. Now the company has launched its latest highlight. This is not a mobile power station. Rather, with the Bluetti EP600 presented at IFA 2022 comes a stationary emergency power solution for the entire household.

Bluetti EP600 relies on modular design

The global energy crisis has given alternative energy storage systems a real boost. Since these can also be wonderfully combined with solar panels, however, it is not exclusively the sometimes widespread fear of the ominous “blackout” that encourages many people to buy them. On top of that, suitable energy storage systems in the home can store the excess solar power to make it available at a later time. As a result, such systems as the recently presented Bluetti EP600 are simply part of the energy transition. After all, they promote the use of green electricity, which should benefit the environment and the user’s wallet.

The EP600 is a modular system. At its heart is a solar generator. This can be expanded to a total capacity of 79.3 kWh by connecting 16 additional B500 batteries. However, freedom is not limited to the choice of battery capacity. On top of that, the Bluetti EP600 is not exclusively a solar generator. The system also performs as a pure emergency power solution. Here you simply charge the batteries via your household socket. When fully charged, it then steps in if a power outage should occur. In doing so, the powerful system itself is said to be able to run several power-hungry devices at the same time.

EP600 scores with LiFePO4 batteries

With models like the Bluetti EB3A (test), the manufacturer regularly proves that it can produce straightforward power solutions that are self-explanatory. In the operation of the EP600, this should also be the case. However, a professional installer should be used for the installation of the same. Since this requires access to the home power grid, the work should be done by an electrician for safety reasons. Bluetti itself, however, also offers an installation service for a surcharge of 1,500 Euros. This results in a total price of just under 11,500 euros if you choose the “all-inclusive package” including installation from Bluetti.

The trend is increasingly toward modern LiFePO4 batteries. Like the small EB3A or even the competition in the form of the EcoFlow Delta 2 (test), the EP600 also relies on modern LiFePO4 battery cells. These have various advantages over classic lithium-ion batteries. Probably the biggest advantage is safety. There is no need to worry about fire or explosion hazards. The technology also scores with a longer service life. According to the manufacturer, over 5,000 charging cycles are possible before the capacity falls below the magic limit of 80 percent. If you fully charge the EP600 once a day, you should be able to reliably get electricity for the entire household for 10 years.
