The Brekr Model F is an unusual new e-bike that looks a bit like a classic moped. It comes without a manual gearshift and can be pre-ordered now with a discount before it is scheduled for release in the fall of 2023.
The Brekr Model F in detail
Manufacturer Brekr from the Netherlands has unveiled an exciting and stylish new e-bike. The Model B electric motorcycle is now followed by the Brekr Model F e-bike, which is visually reminiscent of a moped.
It will initially be offered in a Launch Edition intended exclusively for the Dutch market and limited to 20 bikes, as well as in a First Edition that will also make it to Germany.
“Our goal with the Model F was to take the original designs of the Brekr and develop it into the fatbike of the future,” writes the manufacturer on the website. In doing so, the Model F relies on specially developed 22-inch custom wheels that are designed to provide a more comfortable ride and make e-bikes more future-proof.
The motor from Bafang is driven by a belt on the rear axle, which is supposed to be correspondingly particularly quiet, clean and maintenance-free. The gearshift of the hub motor is thereby in two gears automatically, a manual gear change is therefore not possible.
Here, the motor engages in an assisting manner when pedaling, and the pedaling assistance is limited to a speed of 25 km/h, which means the Brekr Model F is approved for road use.

Up to 130 km range
There are no cables or similar unsightly details to be seen on the Brekr Model F. According to the manufacturer, these have been completely hidden under the aluminum frame.
The e-fatbike does without a suspension, which should not be a problem due to the particularly large and bulky tires, as these compensate for unevenness in the road surface. The saddle has also been equipped with damping to increase riding comfort. However, the Model F will only be able to convince to a limited extent in rough terrain.
Speaking of the saddle, the height of the e-bike’s saddle can be adjusted, which should make the Model F suitable for different body sizes. It should be large enough to accommodate two people at the same time and has an integrated rear light.
Also offered is optional connectivity that protects the bike from theft, for example. “If your bike starts moving without you, our professional bike hunters will show up to track down your bike,” says the manufacturer.
Offered is the Brekr Model F with two different battery variants. The normal battery with 540 Wh comes on a range of 35 to 60 kilometers, with the Extended battery with 700 Wh up to 130 km are possible. However, this is only in Eco mode; as standard with full support, the range should be between 45 and 75 kilometers.
Checking the battery level is possible either on the display or via the companion app. In addition, the battery can be easily removed with a corresponding, special. Charging is also possible with the help of a normal socket and takes five to six hours of time.
