
Brose, a manufacturer from Berlin, has presented a new, powerful e-bike motor at Eurobike 2023, the Brose Drive³. This motor, which is equipped with 48-volt technology, is said to impress with its particularly quiet and low-vibration operation.
Power and speed
The Brose Drive³ can generate 95 Nm of torque and enables acceleration of up to 25 km/h. In addition, the motor offers optional push assistance up to a speed of 6 km/h, where pedaling is not required.
Weight and material
Depending on the version, the weight of the Brose Drive³ varies. The lightest version with a magnesium housing weighs 2,900 g, while the version with an aluminum housing has a weight of 3,400 g.
Seamless support levels
Another highlight of the Brose Drive³ is the ability to seamlessly shift through the support levels without the power dropping off. This makes for a particularly smooth and pleasant riding experience.
Battery capacity and charging time
The 48-volt battery of the Brose Drive³ has a capacity of 814 Wh and can be fully charged within 3-4 hours. An additional feature is the USB-C port, which allows charging of external devices.
Availability and price
Brose has not yet announced any information about the price of the motor or the companies that will use it. However, it has been announced that the system will be available as early as 2024 model year bikes.
