With this cooperation, two specialists are combining their respective strengths: While Noctua has been a fixture in the field of quiet and powerful cooling technology for years, Carbice is contributing its experience with vertically aligned carbon nanotube heat conducting materials. This combination could be of particular interest to demanding PC enthusiasts who prefer long-term stability and low-maintenance solutions.
In contrast to classic thermal paste, which can dry out over time or lose efficiency due to thermal stress, Carbice pads rely on a material structure that is even said to improve through repeated thermal cycles. This is due to the special carbon nanotubes, which gradually adapt to microscopic irregularities between the processor and cooler.
Another key feature is mechanical stability. Many alternative carbon or graphite pads are considered sensitive, slippery or electrically conductive. Carbice addresses this problem with an aluminum core embedded between the nanotube layers.
