At CES 2022, currently taking place in Las Vegas, manufacturer Acer has unveiled two additions to its ultra-thin and lightweight Swift X series with powerful GPUs, as well as the new Acer Aspire C27 and C24 all-in-one PCs.
Acer Swift X: Powerful, ultraportable notebooks
You can easily take the ultraportable notebook Acer Swift X (SFX14-51G) with a 35.56 cm (14 inch) display and a weight of only 1.4 kg everywhere. Inside, Acer installs a powerful 12th generation Intel Core processor with up to 14 cores and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU, which should also make the notebook suitable for gamers.
The aluminum case is also extremely slim at 17.9 mm. A fan, an air-permeable keyboard, and two heatpipes confidently dissipate the generated heat and help the device maintain the peak performance required for demanding multitasking or content creation.
The 40.64 cm (16-inch) model of the Swift X (SFX16-52G) also features 12th-generation Intel Core processors with up to 14 cores (6 performance cores and 8 E cores) and discrete Intel Arc A370M graphics. The notebook uses its extra two inches to accommodate some more cooling power:
Two fans, two copper heat pipes, a keyboard with air intake and a larger side exhaust vent. Developed in collaboration with Intel, the device meets the requirements of an Intel Evo laptop with the corresponding specification and fulfills the highest demands in terms of responsiveness, battery life, fast charging and intelligent collaboration.
Windows 11 on board
Both models run Windows 11 and feature a 16:10 aspect ratio IPS display with surprisingly narrow bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 92.22 percent.
This equates to 2,240 x 1,400 pixels on the 14-inch model and 2,560 x 1,600 (WQXGA) on the 16-inch model. In combination with a hundred percent coverage of the sRGB color space and a brightness of up to 400 nits, a clear and detailed picture quality is thus offered. To further enhance the display, it features Acer ExaColor and Acer Color Intelligence for more vibrant colors.
Up to 32 GB RAM
In addition to up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 2TB of PCIe SSD storage for faster navigation, the new Swift X models offer Intel Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) for fast and stable connectivity.
The Swift X has plenty of interfaces with two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support (up to 40GB4), two USB 3.2 Type-A ports and HDMI 2.0. In addition, there is a Thunderbolt charging cable that allows charging the notebook even faster. A fingerprint scanner guarantees easy logging in with Windows Hello.
For optimal productivity in all conditions, both models offer a front-facing Full HD MIPI camera with Acer’s Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR) technology. Acer PurifiedVoice with AI Noise Reduction and DTS audio ensure clearer calls and excellent sound quality.
Acer Aspire C27 and C24: Two new all-in-one workstations
Also of interest for the home or office are the two new all-in-one workstations, the Acer Aspire C27 (C27-1751) with a 68.58 cm (27-inch) screen diagonal and the Acer Aspire C24 (C24-1750) with a 60.45 cm (23.8-inch) screen diagonal.
The devices come with Windows 11, the latest Intel Core i7 processors of the 12th generation, up to NVIDIA GeForce MX550 graphics processor (C27-1751) and 32 GB DDR4 RAM, as well as a 512 GB SSD and a 1 TB hard drive, for example.
This powerful hardware is supported by a variety of connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi 6E for fast and stable connections, Bluetooth 5, and Thunderbolt 4 for 40 Gbps bidirectional bandwidth.
The Acer Aspire C27 also meets the highest standards for video telephony with a Full HD 1080p webcam and dual stereo microphones. With a screen-to-body ratio of 91.14 percent, the display looks very stylish and offers more than enough space for content.
The display and webcam are also tiltable (-5 to +25°), so users can find the perfect angle before getting started. Acer BlueLightShield technology ensures a comfortable viewing experience, and when the call is over, a convenient webcam cover provides privacy.
Prices and Availability
Both the Acer Swift X (SFX14-51G) and Acer Swift X (SFX16-52G) notebooks are expected to be available in stores in April 2022. The MSRP for both laptops is EUR 1,199. Prices and availability of the all-in-one PCs Acer Aspire C27 (C27-1751) and Acer Aspire C24 (C24-1750) are not yet fixed and will be announced later.
