CES 2023: Alienware Aurora R15 now with AMD Ryzen CPU

The Aurora series from Alienware makes gamers’ hearts beat faster worldwide. Of course, the gaming division of PC giant Dell won’t miss the opportunity to be represented at CES 2023. Thus, the company now gives its Alienware Aurora R15 gaming tower an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and the AMD Radeon RX7000.

CPU, GPU and cooling system revised

The fact that the Alienware Aurora R15 is to receive an update is not new. After all, the Dell subsidiary already announced this in the fall of 2022. Now, the stylish gaming tower finally comes in a version that should excite AMD fans. The heart of the new AMD-equipped version is either a Ryzen 5 7600X, Ryzen 7 7700X, Ryzen 9 7900X or Ryzen 9 7950X. This means a maximum clock rate of up to 5.7 GHz in the top configuration. The graphics card in the Alienware Aurora R15 will also soon be able to carry an AMD label. In this case, a Radeon RX 7900 XTX can function as the GPU connected via PCIe 5.0. However, those who prefer to combine a graphics card from Nvidia with the AMD CPU can also do so.

The maximum possible here is the new blocking peak in the form of the GeForce RTX 4090. In order to also supply the power guzzlers with enough energy, Alienware relies on a power supply with adequate performance. Here you have the choice between 750 or even 1350 watts. Overheating of the processor is avoided with a revised cooling system. Thus, water cooling of the CPU is now optionally possible. Whether this is necessary is up to the user. Finally, the gaming expert promises to have made improvements to the cooling system in the Alienware Aurora R15. Not only the components are supposed to have become stronger and more efficient. On top of that, the Dell subsidiary has given the tower additional ventilation slots.

Alienware Aurora R15 offers up to 6 TB of storage

Fans of large storage space will get their money’s worth with the gaming tower from Alienware. The gaming experts want to give the R15 up to 6 TB of storage. This is made up of a classic 2 TB HDD and up to 4 TB M.2 SSD. A lot is also possible in terms of working memory. The base configuration comes with 8 GB of RAM. In the top configuration, again, up to 128 GB.

Prices and availability

Those who like the presentation of the Alienware Aurora R15 in the AMD version won’t have to wait long. Still in January 2023, the Dell subsidiary wants to bring the gaming tower with its extraterrestrial design to retail. The basic version will then cost $1,599. Those who want a Radeon GPU to go with the AMD CPU will have to wait a bit longer. These versions are scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2023.
