This year, too, we can take a look at the upcoming technology highlights of 2023 and beyond right at the beginning of the year. After all, the CES in Las Vegas will once again bring together renowned tech companies to present their latest products. Of course, Dell cannot be missing from this. The world-famous PC and notebook manufacturer has presented a newcomer with its Dell G15. In view of its brute looks, it could almost compete with the gaming behemoths from Dell’s subsidiary Alienware. Gamers should also like the inner values in the form of the latest GeForce GPUs and current Intel processors.
Whoever has the choice is spoiled for choice
In terms of equipment, pretty much everything is possible with the new Dell G15. After all, the US company offers its potential buyers plenty of choices. Let’s start with the processors. Besides Intel Core i5 13450HX, you can choose between Intel Core i7-13650HX, Intel Core-13700HX and Intel Core i9-13900HX. The GPUs of the RTX series from Nvidia are supposed to provide graphics power. Dell has not yet revealed which GPUs are available. However, we can expect several options here as well.
You also have a choice when it comes to the display. Dell wants to offer its G15 with two different displays, both measuring 15 inches and with Full HD resolution. There are supposed to be differences between the two screens in terms of refresh rate and brightness. The cheaper display offers quite good rates with 120 Hz and 250 cd/m², which are, however, topped by the top configuration of the screen. The better display not only offers a pleasingly high refresh rate of 165 Hz. On top of that, it scores with a brightness of 300 cd/m².
Other highlights from CES 2023:
- CES 2023: Alienware Aurora R15 now with AMD Ryzen CPU
- CES 2023: Gigabyte Aero 16 gets new CPU and GPU
Dell G15 is not a slim notebook
At first glance, it’s clear that the Dell G15 is not a notebook for fans of portable notebooks. After all, it relies on a surprisingly bulky, almost classic design. It measures 26.9 x 357.26 x 274.5 mm and weighs at least 2.65 kg. In my opinion, this also matches the pleasingly good inner values. After all, not only the CPU, GPU and display are supposed to be really good hardware.
The first specs are also convincing when it comes to memory. Thus, up to 32 GB DDR5 RAM is supposed to be possible. An M.2 SSD with up to 2 TB is also available. It has a choice of 2280 or 2230 format. The keyboard already makes a chic impression. It is supposed to offer RGB lighting with four zones. You can choose between a 56 Wh or 86 Wh battery.
Of course, the latter is also significantly larger. In terms of connectivity, the Dell G15 already shows itself to be communicative. Besides several USB-A ports (Gen 3.2), a USB-C port (Gen 3.2 Gen2) is supposed to be used. Also on board is probably an HDMI-out of version 2.1. Thanks to an integrated webcam and speakers with Dolby certification, the notebook is also well-equipped for video conferencing.
Price and Availability of the Dell G15
The Dell G15 is available in three different color versions. It is scheduled to launch before the end of spring 2023 and, according to Dell, has an MSRP starting at $849. However, those who prefer AMD’s CPU and GPU will have to wait a bit longer. A corresponding counterpart to the version with Intel and Nvidia components is scheduled for the second quarter of this year.
