CES 2023: EcoFlow Blade, Wave 2 and Glacier showcased

Mobile energy storage has probably never been as popular as it is at present. This can also be felt at this year’s CES where EcoFlow and Jackery are two well-known representatives in the field of power stations. But EcoFlow used the technology fair in the Nevada desert not only to draw attention to its mobile energy storage systems. On top of that, the company presented three new products. These include a robotic mower, a portable refrigerator and a portable air conditioner.

Three new additions at once

In 2023, a home or portable energy storage unit won’t have much in common with the smoky diesel emergency generators that polluted the air for many decades. Jackery, among others, made this clear at this year’s CES. With its two new power stations Solar Generator 1500 Pro and 3000 Pro the company presented combined solutions consisting of efficient solar panels and powerful mobile energy storage units. The presentation was then rounded out with a futuristic tent that features integrated solar panels and batteries. But competitor EcoFlow doesn’t sleep either. This is not only true for the power stations such as the EcoFlow River 2 Max (test). Thus, away from its energy solutions, the manufacturer was also able to present exciting new devices at the technology fair, which are intended to be one thing above all: ecological.

EcoFlow Blade

With the EcoFlow Blade, the company wants to enter the field of robotic mowers. In doing so, the Blade is not simply to be cheaper than a professional mowing service. The user comfort is also supposed to be pleasingly high, which is supposed to be ensured by the convenient operation via app, among other things.  The Blade’s looks clearly differ from conventional devices in this segment. After all, it looks more like a NASA Mars rover than an automated lawn mower. But the functions are also supposed to be ahead of the competition.

For example, the robot is said to be the first in the world to have an integrated dustpan to directly collect the mowed lawn. At the same time, it is said to be able to pick up leaves itself. Thanks to integrated 4G and an eSIM, there is no need to worry about theft. The robotic mower’s features are rounded off with its very good climbing capabilities, automatic route planning and easy maintenance. However, the big advantage is certainly the possibility to charge the built-in battery of the EcoFlow Blade with a suitable solar panel. Thus, the home garden can be maintained with the help of green electricity.

EcoFlow Wave 2

The Wave 2 is not really new. After all, EcoFlow could already celebrate great successes with the predecessor of the air conditioner. So it comes as no surprise that the second version is now being launched. A big advantage of the air conditioner is certainly its portable design. This definitely gives it the edge over permanently installed alternatives, because it offers far more flexibility. After all, the EcoFlow Wave 2 can also be conveniently taken along on summer camping vacations to create bearable temperatures in the tent.

Not only cooling, but also heating is to be possible. Compared to its predecessor, EcoFlow wants to score with a more compact design, which should make it even easier to carry the air conditioner from point A to point B. A runtime of up to eight hours sounds promising. As with the EcoFlow Blade, you would be well advised to use a solar panel as well. This way, the air conditioner can be operated entirely without CO² emissions.

EcoFlow Glacier

With the Glacier, EcoFlow wants to offer everything that a classic refrigerator also brings. Just more compact and, above all, more ecological. Thus, not only food can be cooled in the handy refrigerator. The device also has the industry’s first ice cube maker in a portable refrigerator. According to the initial technical data, the mini-fridge is very durable.

With just one complete charge of the 297 Wh battery, 24 hours of runtime should be possible. This makes it the perfect companion on a camping weekend or a barbecue in the city park. With the help of the practical handle and the wheels, it can be moved like a rolling suitcase. Of course, the battery of the EcoFlow Glacier with matching solar panel can also be charged in an environmentally friendly way.

Prices and availability

It’s really exciting to see the companies behind the increasingly popular power stations broadening their reach. EcoFlow’s new products are especially so exciting because they seem to score points not only with their modern features and high user comfort. On top of that, they combine the latest technology with an environmentally friendly concept. It is not yet known how much the three newcomers will cost. The situation is different when it comes to the release. While EcoFlow Blade and Glacier are scheduled for spring 2023, the manufacturer will launch its EcoFlow Wave 2 with perfect timing in time for summer.
