CES 2023: HYTE Y40 midi tower introduced

HYTE is considered a young expert in the field of PC components. At this year’s CES, the iBUYPOWER brand has unveiled the HYTE Y40, a brand new midi-tower design case. Although this is only the brand’s second case, it certainly looks promising given its bold design.

It’s the inner values that count

After the Y60 was already celebrated in PC hobbyist circles, the HYTE Y40 is now the long-awaited successor. The relationship to the already available case cannot be denied. On the one hand, the two-part panorama glass design ensures that. This ensures that you can take a look at the installed components inside. HYTE emphasizes that the tempered glass should be easy to install and remove. You simply use a tab on the case’s back for this. To make the glass walls worthwhile, a suitable riser cable (PCIE-4.0) is supposed to be included with the HYTE Y40.

With the help of the cable, the graphics card can be mounted vertically. GPUs should be possible with a size of 422 x 94 mm. There are also two fans with a diameter of 120 mm pre-installed ex-works. While one fan is responsible for the ventilation of the graphics card, the other one is supposed to be used for the power supply. A kind of cable rack is to make its debut in the HYTE Y40. This is located as a kind of cavity under the PSU cover and is supposed to provide better thermals for the entire PC. Finally, the necessary cables can be stored in the shelf, which should make cable management immensely easier.

HYTE Y40 offers good connectivity

Water cooling is also said to be possible. According to the manufacturer, the case supports all-in-one solutions up to a size of 280 mm on the side and up to a size of 360 mm on the top. On the front, there are again various ports next to the square power button. Thus, the HYTE Y40 offers 2x USB-A, 1x USB-C and a 3.5 mm combo jack here. The chic case is supposed to be launched in a total of three color variants, in which the innards are supposed to remain black in each case. Besides black and white, you should also be able to opt for eye-catching red.

While the HYTE Y40 was just unveiled at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, it is available now. At an MSRP of 179.00 euros, you can secure the case on HYTE.com, among other places.
