CES 2023: XGIMI presents Intelligent Screen Adaptation Technology 2.0

Projector and beamer expert XGIMI has introduced the new Intelligent Screen Adaptation Technology 2.0 at CES 2023, which is already present in the MoGo 2 Pro – which we have already introduced to you. Not only is it meant to protect the eyes, but it also takes care of image adjustment automatically and intelligently.

XGIMI Introduces Intelligent Screen Adaptation Technology 2.0

Intelligent Screen Adaptation Technology 2.0 (ISA 2.0) from XGIMI is said to make smart projectors ready to use even faster and deliver the perfect image. In contrast to version 1.0, ISA 2.0 is said to perform image adaptation much faster, among other things.

ISA 2.0 technology adds three more options to the intelligent and user-friendly setup function: Seamless Auto Keystone Correction, Seamless Auto Focus and Intelligent Eye Protection.

XGIMI claims to meet the needs of various application possibilities that projection can encounter in home scenarios. With a flexible large-screen display and user-friendly setup, the company aims to appeal to even more end users and provide easy, quick setup without any waiting time.

Setup features at a glance

XGIMI Intelligent Screen Adaptation Technology 2.0’s seamless auto keystone correction and autofocus ensure that devices correct the image in just a few seconds. The keystone correction works especially precise, fast and without interruption.

“Equipped with industry-leading 3D ToF and high-precision CMOS solutions, trillion-level data is returned and processed in real time per second, resulting in more accurate and faster automatic keystone and autofocus correction,” the manufacturer said.

Added to this is Intelligent Eye Protection, which detects users and immediately dims the light to protect eyes if they accidentally look into a projector’s light source.

Intelligent Screen Alignment is also part of ISA 2.0, which automatically identifies the projection surface and adjusts the display to perfectly fit each edge, eliminating the need to manually readjust corners.

ISA 2.0 also includes another feature that users already know from the original ISA technology: Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance uses a new screen-sensing algorithm to detect obstacles in the projection area.

During keystone correction, the projector automatically detects obstacles and finds the ideal projection area all by itself. Which should prove particularly useful in households with a lot or large wall decorations.

Further enhancements

Intelligent Screen Adaptation Technology 2.0 relies on a specially designed 3D-ToF depth perception module and a high-precision CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) for home projection, with 3D-ToF capable of perceiving 10,000 times more data than single-point ToF. Combined with XGIMI’s new visual perception algorithm, the projection is said to be even more adaptable to the environment.

The ISA technology measures the time it takes for the light wave to reflect after hitting the projection surface. Compared to before, ISA 2.0 calculates the distance between the light source and the projection surface faster and draws a depth map of the room where the projector is located.

Screen Adaptation Technology 2.0 is used in XGIMI’s MoGo 2 Pro, which won the 2023 German Design Award. With conventional projectors, angle selection, keystone correction and focusing are essential. This is done fully automatically by such an intelligent projector.
