CES: Corsair K95 RGB Platinum XT – the keyboard for streamers

At CES 2020, Corsair presents its first joint product with the acquired manufacturer Elgato: the K95 RGB Platinum XT. Corsair is adding streamer features to the keyboard, for which Elgato has so far excelled. Apart from that, the keyboard does not change to K95 RGB Platinum.

The K95 RGB Platinum XT offers dynamic RGB backlighting for each individual key, as well as a sturdy brushed aluminium frame. The mechanical Cherry MX key switches are designed to withstand up to 100 million keystrokes. The keycaps are also robust: PBT double shot keycaps are thus the best you can get. There is also a removable padded palm rest with imitation leather cover.

But what makes the K95 RGB Platinum XT now different from the K95 RGB Platinum?

Quite simple: On the software side the functions of the Elgato Stream Deck are now also available. So you can put various streaming shortcuts also on the macro keys of the keyboard. It’s a pity that Corsair is releasing a new keyboard for this and that this is not an update for the previous K95 RGB Platinum.

After all the K95 RGB Platinum XT doesn’t get more expensive and is also available for 199,90 Euro RRP. We will find it in stores shortly.
