With the K63W Pro Compact, CHERRY XTRFY is presenting a gaming keyboard at COMPUTEX 2026 that combines several technological innovations. For the first time, ultra-wideband technology (UWB) is being used in a gaming keyboard and is set to take wireless gaming to a new level of performance. Together with a polling rate of 8000 Hz, the new model promises particularly fast and stable data transmission – both in wired and wireless mode.

  • First gaming keyboard with ultra-wideband technology (UWB)
  • Wireless and wired 8000 Hz polling rate for extremely fast signal transmission
  • New compact 70% layout with full row of function keys
  • 6000 mAh battery and optimized CHERRY MX LOW PROFILE 2.0 switches

CHERRY XTRFY K63W Pro Compact relies on ultra-wideband technology

With the introduction of ultra-wideband technology, CHERRY XTRFY is breaking new ground in the field of wireless gaming peripherals. While conventional wireless solutions usually operate in heavily frequented frequency ranges, UWB utilizes a significantly broader frequency spectrum. Data is transmitted via short pulses, which should result in more precise signal timing and less susceptibility to interference.

This can be particularly advantageous in environments with many wireless devices. According to the manufacturer, the technology enables particularly low latency, a more robust connection and higher data throughput at the same time. This enables a real 8000 Hz polling rate even in wireless operation. The keyboard therefore sends input to the PC up to eight times per millisecond.

In addition, the energy-efficient operation of Ultra-Wideband is intended to improve battery life. To this end, CHERRY XTRFY integrates a powerful 6000 mAh battery, which should also enable longer gaming sessions without frequent recharging. With this approach, the K63W Pro Compact is particularly well positioned for demanding gamers who do not want to compromise between wireless freedom and maximum performance.

Compact design meets improved typing feel

In addition to the new wireless technology, CHERRY XTRFY relies on a specially developed 70% layout, making it slightly larger than the K5 Pro TMR (our test). This significantly reduces the width of the keyboard and creates additional space for mouse movements without sacrificing the row of function keys. This makes the keyboard particularly interesting for competitive gamers who value an ergonomic desk layout.

The manufacturer also promises significant improvements in typing feel compared to classic low-profile keyboards. The optimized CHERRY MX LOW PROFILE 2.0 switches are used, which work together with a specially tuned gasket-mount construction. This design is intended to enable softer keystrokes, more pleasant acoustics and a more precise typing feel.

The combination of a flat housing, high-quality switches and gasket-mount technology is rare in this segment. The K63W Pro Compact is therefore not only aimed at gamers, but also at users who use their keyboard daily for productive tasks and longer typing sessions.

Conclusion

With the CHERRY XTRFY K63W Pro Compact, the manufacturer presents one of the most exciting keyboard innovations of 2026. The combination of ultra-wideband technology, wireless 8000 Hz polling rate and compact 70% layout clearly sets this model apart from previous gaming keyboards. The market launch in Europe is planned for the beginning of July 2026. The recommended retail price is 179.99 euros.
