Chuwi LarkBox X: Mini PC with AMD Ryzen 7 for 400 US dollars

Manufacturer Chuwi calls its mini-PC series LarkBox the “smallest PC in the world”. Now they are offering a new model, the Chuwi LarkBox X, which comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, an NVMe SSD, and 8GB of RAM.

The Chuwi LarkBox X is currently already available on Amazon and comes up with quite convincing hardware. The manufacturer relies on an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U with four cores and eight threads, as well as a Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics solution with 640 shaders and a clock rate of up to 1,400 MHz.

Chuwei calls the LarkBox X a “mini gaming PC” that features 8GB of DDR4 memory running at 2400 MHz in dual-channel mode and a Kingston M.2280-NVMe SSD with 256GB of memory (PCI Express 3.0). Both working and system memory are replaceable and expandable, with a maximum of 32 GB RAM on the LarkBox.

External displays can be connected via HDMI 2.0 output or via DisplayPort. The USB Type C port also enables image output, but only with a refresh rate of 30 frames per second when displaying 4K content. Via HDMI and DisplayPort, on the other hand, 4K with 60 FPS is realized.

External storage devices and accessories can be connected via four USB 3.0 ports. There is also a 3.5mm jack port for connecting headsets and speakers. Two Ethernet ports are installed at the back of the device. The maximum data transfer rate is 2.5 Gbit/s. There is also a WiFi 802.11ac module with Bluetooth 4.2 support.

The Chuwi LarkBox X is really tiny

The Chuwi LarkBox X only measures 12.7 cm x 12.7 cm x 5.1 cm (length x height x depth) and comes with Windows 10. However, an upgrade to Windows 11 is possible. The cooling is active with the help of a heat pipe.

Price and Availability

The Chuwi LarkBox X is currently on sale at the US offshoot of Amazon. There it is priced at $499.00, with a discount of $100.00 currently being offered. Shipping to Germany is theoretically possible, although additional shipping and import costs are added here. It is not yet clear if the LarkBox X will be available in Germany.
