The IoT platform Conrad Connect will finally be discontinued on December 16. The step comes as a surprise, after all, the operator had only adjusted its price structure in the summer of 2021. In a few weeks, it will finally be over.
Conrad Connect: IoT platform to be discontinued
The cloud-based smart home service Conrad Connect will finally be discontinued on December 16. In an email to customers, the company said that Conrad Connect’s functions will soon be taken offline.
In a comprehensive FAQ, the Berlin-based company gives further details and clarifies the most important questions. However, it is already no longer possible to add additional services or devices.
Subscription fees already paid for the remaining period are to be refunded on a pro-rata basis on the cut-off date of December 16. Deposited and stored data should and must be exported manually, Conrad Connect further states. A bundled self-service export function for all data collected on Conrad Connect (of all connected devices) cannot be offered for technical reasons.
As a reason for the discontinuation of the service, the company announces that it is currently in a transformation process towards Europe’s leading sourcing platform for technical operating supplies- with a special focus on business customers.
After Conrad Connect was predominantly geared towards use in the private sector, there will therefore be no further expansion of the IoT platform and Conrad Connect will be discontinued.
