Cooler Master introduces MasterFrame 700

As part of its product launches for 2021, Cooler Master has introduced an exciting niche product. Namely, the MasterFrame 700 is a PC case of a slightly different kind.

Exciting open-air case

Cooler Master puts the MasterFrame 700 together from three different parts. These can be individually aligned via special hinges. Thus, the US company creates a case here that is suitable as a show case as well as a benchtable. If you want to use the MasterFrame 700 as a showcase, you put it upright. The core serves as a mainboard tray. The left and right wings are used for mounting 280 mm or 360 mm radiators. In addition, the case offers custom-made spaces for seven drives in the size of 2.5 inches. Alternatively, four drive slots are also available for the 3.5 inch or 2.5 inch format.

So that you can marvel at the inner workings, a glass panel can be placed in front of the opened case. However, this also limits the height of the processor cooler. It can’t be higher than 15.8 cm. The maximum length of the graphics card, on the other hand, is 45 cm. As for the motherboards, the maximum you can choose is the SSI-EEB form factor.

Not only showcase, but also benchtable

But the MasterFrame 700 is not only suitable as a show case. After all, if you don’t want to use it upright, you can also lay it down in an uncomplicated manner. In the lying position, the case then turns into a practical benchtable. Master Cooler also offers a third orientation of the special case. Thanks to the 100 mm x 100 mm VESA mounting, it can be easily mounted on the wall. However, it should be said that you should not equip it with too heavy components in case of wall mounting. Master Cooler specifies a maximum total weight of 14 kg here.

The dream for PC hobbyists

When it comes to materials, Cooler Master relies mainly on steel for its MasterFrame 700. This makes the basic construction not only resistant, but also durable. In addition, you quickly notice that the US company specifically targets the hobbyist faction. The individual elements can be easily disassembled. This makes it very easy to make individual adjustments to the case, such as painting or other work steps.

Cooler Master delivers the MasterFrame 700 in individual parts so that you can start even before assembling it. Even though the manufacturer has an exotic product in the pipeline here, the dimensions are rather typical. The case is supposed to measure 702 mm x 306 mm x 410 mm. The final dimensions will of course depend on which components the user installs. The positive impression is rounded off by the I/O panel, which has the appropriate ports for USB-C, USB-A and audio.

Price and Availability

The MasterFrame is already available for purchase in the US. Interested buyers will have to pay an MSRP of 169 US dollars here. We do not yet know when and at what price the somewhat different case will be launched in this country.
