With the new AIR 5400, CORSAIR is launching a PC case that rethinks the concept of the classic mid-tower. Instead of two chambers as in the legendary AIR 540, the company has now opted for a revolutionary three-part layout. The aim is to minimize heat development and noise levels – and at the same time create maximum flexibility for high-end hardware.
- Innovative three-chamber design for CPU, GPU and power supply separation
- Dedicated cooling solution with its own AIO chamber for 360 mm radiators
- Pre-installed reverse RGB fans and optional iCUE LINK system
- Cable routing with RapidRoute 2.0 and modular mounts
Revolutionary case layout for optimal heat dissipation
The three-chamber layout of the CORSAIR AIR 5400 is more than just a design innovation – it directly optimizes cooling efficiency. While conventional towers usually mount the CPU AIO in the upper area, where it is confronted with the warm air from the GPU, CORSAIR relocates the radiator to a separate front chamber. This draws in cool outside air, dissipates dissipated heat via its own channels and keeps the other components thermally insulated.
The result: stable CPU temperatures, less heat build-up and noticeably quieter background noise. Even with overclocked processors, the separate airflow ensures constant performance. The GPU also benefits – it sits in its own chamber that is independent of the CPU and is supplied directly with fresh air from three pre-installed 120 mm reversible fans.
Another detail is the option to install fans up to 30 mm thick in the upper and lower airflow channels. This allows the AIR 5400 to be individually adapted to different cooling strategies – from silent setups to gaming builds with maximum airflow.
Design meets function: glass, RGB and easy access
The all-round glass design of the AIR 5400 is striking: large, hinged panel sides offer an almost unrestricted view of the interior. The hinges disappear completely into the frame – an aesthetic advantage that also facilitates quick access to hardware. Whether for regular upgrades or creative system presentations, the housing brings showroom character to your own setup.
Depending on the variant, CORSAIR uses different fan configurations: the ARGB version comes with three RS120-R fans, while the iCUE LINK version contains the advanced LX120-R reverse fans including a system hub. This allows up to 24 devices to be controlled via a single cable in the iCUE software – efficient and space-saving.
Small but useful extras also show CORSAIR’s attention to detail: QuikTurn screws, an anti-sag stabilization arm for heavy GPUs, a reusable storage box for screws and a microfibre cloth for the glass surfaces are all included.
Tidiness and connectivity inside
The rear chamber of the AIR 5400 houses the power supply unit, drives and all cables. The new RapidRoute 2.0 system offers modular cable ties with ratchet function, which can be positioned flexibly. Nylon brushes between the chambers enable clean cable routing without any visible feed-throughs – a well thought-out detail that also improves the appearance.
For users of modern motherboards with rear connections (such as ASUS, MSI or GIGABYTE), the case also offers generous space and clever cable routing solutions. The top I/O panel rounds off the premium experience: three USB-C ports, including one with 10 Gb/s, enable fast data transfers and flexible peripheral use.
Conclusion
With the AIR 5400, CORSAIR is consistently continuing the concept of its legendary AIR series – this time even more modular, quieter and future-proof. The case impresses with well thought-out air routing, high-quality materials and creative details that simplify assembly. Thanks to the combination of design, cooling performance and user-friendliness, the AIR 5400 is set to become a new benchmark in the mid-tower case sector.
The CORSAIR AIR 5400 is now available from the CORSAIR webstore and authorized dealers at a price of 329.90 euros. It is available in black and white and comes with a two-year warranty.
