Corsair and Nanoleaf: Smart Home Integration in iCUE

Peripheral manufacturer Corsair and Nanoleaf, makers of light panels, bulbs and LED light strips, are teaming up to enable synchronization and control within Corsair’s iCUE software from now on.

Corsair and Nanoleaf team up

Those who want to synchronize their Nanoleaf lighting, such as the Lines (our review) or panels, with their peripherals from Corsair can do so from now on. According to both manufacturers, the Lines, Shapes, Canvas and Light Panels product lines can be integrated into the iCUE software from now on and can thus adjust the lighting to match what is happening on the screen.

A total of 13 predefined effects such as waves, rain or rainbow waves are available for selection. However, you can also create your own lighting effects within the software using the editor. Light warnings can also be set, for example when the temperature of the PC gets too high.

The lighting is not only controlled via iCUE on the PC, but also via the Nanoleaf app if desired. However, the setup has to be done and activated via the Corsair software first. For more details, check out Corsair’s website.

Corsair isn’t the first manufacturer Nanoleaf has worked with, however. Already about a year ago they introduced support to Razer Chroma, which allows synchronization with gaming peripherals in a similar form.

Nanloeaf is ready for Matter

Nanoleaf products, by the way, use Thread as their transmission technology, making them ready for the new smart-home standard Matter, which has just been released in its final form. This means the manufacturer can now get certified in a timely manner and thus add Matter support via firmware update.

This should allow Nanolead lighting products to be controlled in the foreseeable future without any additional software integration at all, and centrally and synchronously with other manufacturers’ products. Nanoleaf had already confirmed future Matter support in January 2022.
