For PC hobbyists and all those who want to become one, CORSAIR has presented new hardware. The CORSAIR iCUE LINK Smart Component Ecosystem is designed to make building your own computer much easier.
CORSAIR iCUE LINK makes PC building a breeze
Fans of PC hardware should definitely take a look at the new CORSAIR iCUE LINK Smart Component System. With this, the company wants to make PC construction smarter and, as it were, less complicated. To achieve this goal, the company wants to completely rethink and improve the way a PC is assembled. Now it should be possible for both experienced PC hobbyists and newcomers in this field to build their own system without any problems. The core of the brand new system is the single-cable technology, which CORSAIR has patented without further ado. According to the manufacturer, this should ensure that it takes almost 50 percent less time to set up a PC system. Finally, it should significantly simplify the often time-consuming cable management. Here one creates a device chain in the context of the PC construction so to speak.
In the end, all hardware components hang from one cable. However, this does not only mean a comprehensive time saving during assembly. On top of that, the final results should look much tidier. After all, it’s not just the annoying tangled cables that are a thing of the past. On top of that, space-consuming and visually unattractive connection hubs, PWM and RGB splitters can be dispensed with without further ado. Furthermore, CORSAIR relies on smart components in the form of microcontrollers. These are supposed to be located in every single component of the iCUE LINK system and act as the “brain”, so to speak. The controllers then communicate with the heart of the CORSAIR iCUE LINK system – the system hub. This is where the control center of the individual components is located. For example, RGB effects can be controlled via this, but also the performance of the cooling system can be regulated.

First models still coming in June
If you make a direct comparison to the PC build of a few years ago, CORSAIR certainly seems to be heading in an exciting direction here. The single-cable technology also eliminates the annoying search for suitable adapters and cables, as it were. Every member of the CORSAIR LINK family can be easily integrated into the system with the corresponding cable. For the launch of the series in June 2023, the company will also introduce various cooling solutions in addition to the System Hub itself. The QX120 and QX140 RGB models sound particularly exciting.
After all, these are said to be the world’s first fans that can be controlled completely digitally and feature “a proprietary magnetic levitation bearing, digital temperature sensor and quad RGB light loops.” But that’s not supposed to be the end of the story by any means. In the third quarter of 2023, CORSAIR still plans to expand its in-house series with the Hydro X Series. Following that, the ecosystem, which also takes newcomers to PC building by the hand, is to be continued with further products.
