The Corsair KATAR ELITE WIRELESS is a new gaming mouse that is supposed to be the manufacturer’s lightest rodent to date. It weighs 69 grams, has a symmetrical compact design and a battery life of up to 110 hours.
The Corsair KATAR ELITE WIRELESS in detail
We have already been able to find out for ourselves in various tests that the gaming peripherals from Corsair are among the best that can be found on the market. They are not stingy with innovations either, as proven by the curvaceous 45-inch gaming monitor Corsair XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240, among others.
With the Corsair KATAR ELITE WIRELESS, they have now introduced the lightest gaming mouse in their own portfolio so far. At 69 grams, it doesn’t necessarily weigh as little as some of its competitors, but it still scores points with its low weight and compact dimensions, which are supposed to be particularly suitable for the claw and fingertip grip style. Thanks to the symmetrical design, left-handers also get their money’s worth, at least to some extent.
Via Slipstream Wireless, the gaming mouse achieves a particularly low latency of less than one millisecond, but you can also connect it to a PC, notebook, tablet or smartphone via Bluetooth.
Up to 110 hours of battery life via Bluetooth and 60 hours via Slipstream Wireless are on the books – also excellent values.
26,000 DPI and mechanical switches
From a technical point of view, you don’t have to accept any sacrifices with the Corsair KATAR ELITE WIRELESS despite its low weight. Corsair installs the optical Marksman sensor with a resolution of 26,000 DPI, which we already know from the M65 RGB Ultra and M65 RGB Ultra Wireless (our review), for example.
The primary QUICKSTRIKE keys are spring-loaded and eliminate the gap between the left and right keys, they also rely on mechanical OMRON switches designed for 60 million clicks. Thanks to hyper-polling at 2,000 Hz, the KATAR ELITE WIRELESS registers and transmits actions at a particularly high speed.
Using the manufacturer’s iCUE software, you can of course fine-tune the gaming mouse down to the last detail and extensively customize the RGB backlighting. The mouse’s six buttons in total can also be assigned macros and shortcuts.
Prices and Availability
The Corsair KATAR ELITE WIRELESS gaming mouse is available now from the manufacturer’s webstore and in stores worldwide. The manufacturer’s recommended retail price is 79.99 euros.
