Display revolution at Corsair. After the two new Xeneon monitors in July, the manufacturer has introduced the revolutionary, curvable 45-inch gaming monitor Corsair XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240 at gamescom 2022, which was developed in close cooperation with LG Display. The curvature of the 45-inch panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio can be customized.
The Corsair XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240 in detail
Curved gaming monitors are nothing new, but an individually adjustable curvature is already a real revolution. This is allowed by the new Corsair XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240, which the manufacturer developed together with LG and presented to the public at gamescom 2022.
With the latest W-OLED technology, the XENEON FLEX OLED promises phenomenal picture quality as well as excellent black levels and response times. From completely flat for strategy games or productivity applications to an immersive 800R curvature for simulations and shooters, including countless settings in between, the curvature of the display can be freely adjusted to one’s preferences in just a few seconds.
Otherwise, the monitor relies on a 45-inch OLED panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 3,440 x 1,440 pixel resolution. Combined, this gives the gaming display a 20 percent larger screen area compared to a 49-inch Ultrawide monitor with a 32:9 aspect ratio, and an 81 percent larger screen area compared to a 34-inch Ultrawide monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
High brightness, strong contrasts
The Corsair XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240 is designed specifically for gamers. The special non-glare coating reduces glare and reflections, and LG Display’s Low Blue Light technology is easy on the eyes and reduces strain.
With the latest LG W-OLED display technology, the self-illuminating OLED pixels deliver a peak brightness of up to 1000 nit with a contrast ratio of 1,350,000:1, and the gray-to-grey response time is a fast 0.03 ms. A fast refresh rate of 240 Hz is also offered. Including the Adaptive Sync standards NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium.
Corsair has also included advanced burn-in protection that works both when the unit is on and off. Includes a three-year Zero Burn In and Zero Dead Pixel warranty (no burn-in, no defective pixels).
“We set out to create a display that would set new standards as well as provide an unparalleled and customizable experience. I think we achieved that goal and more,” reveals Dennis Jackson, senior director of systems product management & marketing at Corsair.
