Cougar Cratus: Unusual case with a lot of space presented

With the Cougar Cratus, the manufacturer has introduced a new case for gaming PCs. It features an unusual, beveled design and offers everything gaming fans could want. From side panels with a view inside to plenty of space for excellent cooling and high-end components.

The Cougar Cratus in Detail

The look of Cougar Gaming’s new PC case is striking. The Cougar Cratus relies on a sloping, front-facing design that the manufacturer calls “Forward-Dynamic” design. This is primarily to allow for advanced visual lighting effects and a more dynamic style, as even the components are installed at an angle.

At the same time, this is supposed to allow more space for the hardware while improving cooling performance and airflow. Curved Tempered Glass allows a glimpse into the inner workings of the 283 x 636 x 635 mm tower, which accommodates motherboards of Mini ITX / Micro ATX / ATX / CEB / E-ATX standards.

The frame is made of robust steel and offers large openings between the glass panels, which also provide fresh air. The case is also equipped with carrying handles and an RGB light strip, which can be adjusted with a dedicated button.

The built-in LED controller is thereby compatible with the 5V ARGB connector of the motherboard and can thus be synchronized with the RGB lighting of the components.

Lots of space

The amount of space in the Cougar Cratus turns out to be lush. 460 mm long high-end graphics cards, E-ATX motherboard and two 3.5-inch HDDs, as well as three 2.5-inch SSDs can easily find space in the case. Two 360mm radiators, a 190mm CPU cooler, and up to nine fans fit inside the case and should provide superior cooling performance.

Three 120 mm fans including ARGB lighting are already installed ex works. Two at the front, one at the rear of the Cratus. The case also has a lot to offer in terms of I/O panels. One USB Type-C 3.1, four USB 3.0 ports, a 3.5 mm jack and the RGB button are available.

The cables can also be hidden with a rotating cover. There is 45 mm of space available for cable management, which means that all cables should disappear behind the cover without any problems.

Price and availability
