Creative Live! Cam Sync V3: Affordable webcam with 2K resolution presented

With the Creative Live! Cam Sync V3, the manufacturer has introduced a new webcam that is positioned above the 1080p V2 model from 2021. It comes with a 2K QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) and features a four-fold digital zoom.

With the new Creative Live! Cam Sync V3 webcam, the manufacturer is targeting everyone who works in the home office or regularly makes video calls. Compared to its predecessor, the new model has a higher resolution. It now offers 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, i.e. a QHD resolution, as well as a 4x digital magnification that allows you to zoom into the picture.

The field of view is relatively wide at 95 degrees. Furthermore, the webcam can be rotated 360 degrees horizontally and tilted 30 degrees to find the ideal angle. You can also adjust the brightness, contrast and white balance and set backlight compensation via the settings.

Creative also promises a reliable and fast auto-focus that keeps you in focus at all times. On top of that, there’s a lens cap that not only protects your privacy, but also keeps out invading dust. Thanks to a universal mount, you can attach the Creative Live! Cam Sync V3 on any notebook or desktop monitor, and you can even mount it on a tripod using a built-in thread.

Technical details

The Creative Live! Cam Sync V3 relies on a CMOS sensor with a resolution of 5 megapixels and allows recording at a maximum of 30 frames per second in 1440p or 1080p. It also offers flicker control in 50 and 60 Hz modes.

The camera, which measures 82.4 x 53.4 x 58 mm (length x depth x height) and weighs around 96 grams, is connected via USB type A. It is plug-and-play compatible. It is plug-and-play capable and immediately ready for use after connection. The cable is a pleasantly long 1.8 meters.

It also has extensive compatibility and can be used not only on Windows PCs and notebooks, but also Mac devices from Apple, ChromeOS devices and even the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
