Creative Sound Blaster GC7: New DAC for streamers and gamers

Creative has presented a new sound hardware to the public. The Sound Blaster GC7 is supposed to be able to offer streamers and gamers the optimal sound as a DAC incl. amplifier. As highlights, the manufacturer mentions, for example, the programmable buttons and the support of Super X-Fi.

New product line

Creative has launched an entirely new product line with the Sound Blaster GC7. The DAC with amplifier is intended primarily for demanding streamers and gamers. Above all, the company wants to score with the uncompromising technology and the high user-friendliness. The Sound Blaster GC7 offers two DSPs.

One of these electronic devices is said to be able to support Super X-Fi. The other one should be able to support Dolby Audio. In order to convert the digital signal reliably into an analog one, Creative relies on an AKM AK4377. This should be able to convert a maximum of 24 bits at 192 kHz.

Not just PC gamers

By the way, not only PC gamers should be able to enjoy the Sound Blaster GC7. On top of that, Creative announces comprehensive support for many consoles. This, and the fact that the sound hardware offers a number of handy controls, should make streamers and gamers look in love. For example, the Sound Blaster GC7 should be able to provide the best usability with its four programmable buttons and the five preset buttons as well as practical rotary controls. Among the three built-in knobs, the right one in particular is likely to attract a lot of attention. After all, it offers an extremely practical feature. You can use it to adjust the volume of programs like Discord independently of the game volume.

Of course, Creative advertises its Sound Blaster GC7 conspicuously with the gaming features like the rotary control. However, the basis for this and other features is of course the corresponding software. Without a corresponding program, the added value of the DAC is likely to be limited. In general, some gamers and streamers will think twice about whether they need the Sound Blaster GC7 at all. After all, the MSRP of 170 US dollars can be quite a deterrent. We don’t yet know how much the DAC will cost in this country. There is also still a lack of knowledge about the release of the practical but expensive sound hardware.
