Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2: New edition of the gaming soundbar presented

Creative Technology has introduced the Sound Blaster Katana V2, a new gaming soundbar that succeeds the popular Sound BlasterX Katana. It relies on an extra slim design, RGB lighting, and 68 percent more power and improved audio dynamics over its predecessor.

Holographic audio experience

The new soundbar relies on the best audio technologies manufacturer Creative has to offer, delivering a high-end sound signature based on 30 years of audio processing experience. It maintains the tri-amplified design of its predecessor, with each of the 5 drivers driven by a proprietary Creative multi-core DSP controller. Improved fabric dome tweeters provide clear and finely resolved highs, while the enlarged subwoofer releases deeper and punchier bass into the room.

A headset can also be connected that benefits from Super X-Fi headphone holography. The multi-award winning technology is able to recreate the sound image of a high-end multi-speaker system on a pair of headphones. Thanks to the built-in Super X-Fi UltraDSP chip, users can experience holographic audio and unprecedented levels of realism in movies and games.

With the SXFI BATTLE mode, especially shooter fans get their money’s worth: This sound mode improves the acoustic localization of the opponent and thus provides an advantage when playing. In addition, there is the so-called Scout mode, which allows players to hear opponents even before they are visible on the screen. With the integrated Dolby audio decoder, you can not only enjoy sound like in the cinema when gaming, but also when watching movies on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix or Disney+.

All-In-One Audio Hub

At the same time, the Sound Blaster Katana V2 is designed to become a home theater audio hub. The soundbar can be customized to sound and look exactly how the user wants it to. In conjunction with the Creative App for desktop and mobile, users can conveniently select EQ settings or make sound tweaks using the Accoustic Engine Suite.

Furthermore, the newly designed RGB lighting offers various lighting modes in 16.8 million colors that react dynamically to the content being played. Settings can be saved as user-defined profiles via the app or the programmable buttons on the remote control.

In terms of connectivity, the Sound Blaster Katana V2 impresses with an HDMI ARC port and optical connections. In addition, the soundbar can play back audio content wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.0 and has a USB-C interface for USB audio. Via 3.5 mm AUX input, maximum compatibility, even with analog audio sources, is offered.

A dedicated SXFI output is also available for certified Super X-Fi products. The Sound Blaster Katana V2 is compatible with a wide range of devices. These include PC, Mac, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, among others.
