DeepCool’s AK series is getting a makeover. Following in the footsteps of the AK500 (our review) or the high-performance AK620 (our review), the new DeepCool AK Zero Dark series goes for an all-black color scheme.

The AK400 Zero Dark Plus features a unique matrix fin design on the all-black heatsink with a top cover for a premium and unobtrusive appearance.

It features four 6mm copper heatpipes that dissipate waste heat from the processor thanks to direct contact. The AK400 Zero Dark Plus is equipped with two powerful DeepCool 120mm FDB PWM fans that balance volume and performance. Up to 220W of heat dissipation is possible.

Powerful FDB fans

Designed with precision, the two high-performance DeepCool fans maximize airflow and static pressure. Offered is a dynamic PWM range between 500 and 1,850 rpm. The special FDB bearing provides additional stability and a long service life.

In addition, the DeepCool AK400 Zero Dark Plus is compactly built, which increases compatibility with other components. With a height of 155 mm, it fits in almost all cases. The removable top cover allows compatibility with some ITX cases and with the top cover removed, the cooler stands at a height of 153 mm.

The installation is particularly comfortable and possible in only five steps thanks to the robust metal case. Various platforms are supported, including the new sockets from Intel and AMD.

Similarly, the AK400 Zero Dark shares the design of the Plus model and has the specifications of the normal AK400 (our review). The fans and heat output are also identical, while the cooler is much more compact with a depth of 97mm.

The AK620 Zero Dark is an all-black version of the popular AK620. It features a high-quality, black and unobtrusive design with a unique matrix fin dual-tower heatsink and dual FDB fans for excellent cooling performance with low noise.

A precision-machined convex bottom plate and six heat pipes running along two high-density fin stacks maximize heat dissipation. Up to 260 watts are possible, while the AK620 also relies on sturdy metal construction, lightweight months and broad compatibility with the latest Intel and AMD sockets.

The DeepCool AK Zero Dark series is expected to be available in stores, such as Alternate and later Amazon, before the end of October 2022. In terms of pricing, the AK400 Zero Dark is priced at an MSRP of 39.99 euros, the AK400 Zero Dark Plus at 44.99 euros, and the AK620 Zero Dark at an MSRP of 74.99 euros.
