Dell G15 (5525): Low-priced gaming laptop comes with AMD Ryzen 6000

Besides the eye-catching new gaming notebooks from the Alienware brand, there is also a new model from Dell in the form of the Dell G15 (5525). Despite the low price of around 1,000 Euros, the features are more than impressive.

Dell G15 (5525) in detail

The new Dell G15 (5525) impressively proves that strong features do not have to be expensive. An AMD Ryzen CPU from the 6000 model series is used. You can choose between an AMD Ryzen 5 6600H, a Ryzen 7 6800H or a Ryzen 9 6900HX. The latter even reaches a clock rate of 4.9 GHz in Turbo Boost.

NVIDIA chips are used for the graphics solution. Starting with the RTX 3050, over the 3050 Ti and 3060 up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX3070 Ti with 8GB GDDR6. Up to 16 GB of DDR5 RAM with 4,800 MHz is installed ex-factory, but the G15 is expandable up to 32 GB. When it comes to system storage, a maximum of 2TB of NVMe M.2 SSD storage is available.

QHD panel with 240 Hz

The manufacturer offers three variations for the display of the Dell G15 (5525). Two Full HD panels with 120 Hz (250 nits brightness) or 165 Hz (300 nits brightness), are supplemented by a QHD panel with 2560 x 1440 pixels, 240 Hz frame rate and a brightness of 400 nits.

On the other hand, savings have been made in the ports, where the 26.9 mm x 357.26 mm x 272.11 mm large and 2.519 kg heavy gaming laptop proves to be frugal. There are three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbit/s), one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbit/s), one HDMI 2.1, Ethernet and a combined 3.5 mm headset port.

The full-size keyboard is said to be protected against spills and can be complemented by either orange lighting or RGB lighting in four zones. Completing the features are WiFi 6, Dolby stereo speakers, and a 720p webcam with dual-array microphones.

The Dell G15 (5525) budget gaming notebook is available now at the manufacturer’s online store. However, not all configurations are available yet. The price starts at a RRP of 1,028.99 Euros.
