Dell XPS 13 Plus: Compact ultrabook gets new edition with 13th generation Intel Core

The futuristic-looking Dell XPS 13 Plus ultrabook caused a stir last year, not least thanks to its invisible trackpad. Now, the manufacturer is relaunching the notebook with updated hardware and relies on 13th generation Intel Core processors, among other things.

The new Dell XPS 13 Plus (9320) once again comes as a compact and light 13-inch notebook and weighs just 1.23 or 1.26 kg depending on the configuration. The height of 15.3 mm is also evidence of a slim laptop, which nevertheless has a lot to offer under the hood.

Under the hood beats the heart in the form of a 13th generation Intel Core i7 processor (Raptor Lake) in the most powerful models. In combination with up to 32 gigabytes of DDR5 working memory and PCIe-4-SSDs storage modules with a maximum of 2 TB capacity, a strong performance is guaranteed.

You can choose between the Intel Core i5-1240P, i7-1260P, i7-1280P, as well as the current Core i5-1340P, i7-1360P or i7-1370P chips. The latter then comes up with a full 24 MB cache, 14 cores and clock rates of up to 5.2 GHz.

Different display variants

Offered with a 13.4-inch InfinityEdge display, the Dell XPS 13 Plus comes in either a 4K UHD+ touchscreen (3,840 x 2,000 pixels) or a 3.5K OLED (3,456 x 2,160 pixels). Both models get up to 500 nits of brightness, while the OLED panel fully covers the DCI-P3 color space. Two Full HD+ display options with and without touchscreen round off the screen selection.

Common to all models is, for example, a flat keyboard in full-size layout, as well as the invisible touchpad. In addition, there are four speakers with 8 watts of studio-quality power and two microphones.

The battery has a capacity of 55 watt hours, while the connectivity is also limited: Only two Thunderbolt 4 ports are offered. A USB-C to USB-A adapter and a corresponding USB-C to 3.5 mm jack counterpart are only optional. This means that only one USB-C port is free when charging the notebook.

On board are fast Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E as well as up-to-date Bluetooth 5.3. Unlocking the Dell XPS 13 Plus is possible biometrically via fingerprint sensor or IR webcam.

The new Dell XPS 13 Plus (9320) is now available directly from Dell’s web shop. It starts with the basic model with Core i5-1340P, FHD+ IPS panel, 8 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD at an MSRP of 1,699 Euros.
