Deutsche Post: Ford contributes 2,000 electric vans

Deutsche Post and the parcel service DHL are taking big steps toward electric mobility. Ford Pro will equip the fleet with nearly 2,000 electric transporters.

Ford Pro with 2,000 e-transporters for Deutsche Post

Deutsche Post and DHL are already sporadically using electric delivery vehicles in Germany. Thanks to Ford, however, the fleet will be significantly expanded in the coming year as Ford Pro and Deutsche Post DHL Group work together.

Accordingly, Ford Pro plans to provide the group with more than 2,000 E-Transit electric vans by the end of 2023, according to a press release. This is a joint effort to further expand the use of sustainable mobility in the last mile.

A complete package of solutions for electric fleet operations, including access to Ford Pro networked e-telematics software and charging solutions, is also part of the deal, which is expected to reduce operating costs and optimize efficiency.

60 percent e-transporters by 2030

“Ford has set a goal of making all vehicle sales zero-emission and CO2-neutral at its European plants, logistics and suppliers by 2035, and globally by 2050 at the latest,” it adds.

By 2030, Deutsche Post DHL Group aims to realize a 60 percent share of e-vehicles, which will be used for carbon-neutral pickup and delivery. The Ford Pro E-Transit is just one of the models to be used in this effort.
