DJI Mini 3 Pro: 249 gram lightweight mini drone comes with longer battery life

The most powerful and lightest mini drone from DJI to date has an appointment. Weighing in at just 249 grams, the DJI Mini 3 Pro has an even longer battery life with added power compared to its predecessor.

DJI Mini 3 Pro launches from May 17

From May 17, the new DJI Mini 3 Pro will be available via the Solectric GmbH homepage, as well as in specialized shops. Thereby, the new mini drone comes up with some exciting improvements.

This already starts with the completely redesigned design, where the weight could be additionally reduced to only 249 grams. At the same time, the ultra-light drone is said to offer better and safer flight performance and capture “extremely sharp” images.

With improved safety features over its predecessor, the drone is DJI’s safest Mini yet. It shines in a new foldable design that has been optimized to ensure more performance during flights.

More safety

Larger propellers and an aerodynamic tilt are also said to allow for longer flight time and minimize the risk of accidents thanks to obstacle detection. This is ensured by the new vision sensors, which offer a larger detection range. The advanced assistant system detects objects in the flight path in real time.

This should enable the Mini 3 Pro to avoid obstacles even under the most difficult conditions. And it can do so for even longer than before thanks to the new, intelligent Flight Battery. The battery offers up to 34 minutes of flight time.

New gimbal for sharp images

The redesigned gimbal allows a wider rotation range for shooting, even from low angles. It also rotates 90 degrees, allowing for quick switching between portrait and landscape modes.

The DJI Mini 3 Pro records videos in 4K resolution with HDR, while photos are possible at 48 megapixels and even in RAW format. In addition, a quadruple digital zoom can be used to zoom into the pictures without losing details.

The image quality in low-light conditions in particular is said to have been improved. “Each image is enriched with a higher dynamic range to reveal more details in highlights and shadows,” the manufacturer promises. This is joined by a slow-motion video mode for 1080p recording at 120 FPS.

With the help of the DJI O3 transmission system, recorded videos and images can also be shared directly via social media. It also enables live 1080p broadcasts at a maximum of 30 FPS, even at distances of up to 12 km.

Also exciting for beginners are the so-called MasterShots. This allows automatic flight routes and camera movements to be started, for example, which are then directly edited in the app as videos and underlaid with music and effects.

Precise control

Responsive control with the DJI RC-N1 or the new DJI RC ensures smooth flight every time. Both remotes allow a maximum video bit rate of 18 Mbps with a latency of only 120 ms. Additionally, the lightweight DJI RC remote feels great in the hand and features an integrated screen designed specifically for the DJI Mini 3 Pro. In addition, the DJI Fly app is already pre-installed.

Price and Availability

The DJI Mini 3 Pro mini drone will be available in stores and online at Solectric starting May 17. Offered individually, the device will then carry an MSRP of 829.00 euros. Alternatively, the drone including the DJI RC controller is available in a bundle for 999.00 euros.
