DOOGEE V20: Price & release of the outdoor smartphone are fixed

After smartphone manufacturer DOOGEE kept us in the dark for months, the key points of the upcoming V20 have now been determined. The rugged phone will be available for pre-order on AliExpress starting February 21. We take a closer look at the rugged device.

Dual display design

Those who decide to buy an outdoor smartphone usually do not do so without making compromises. In particular, the installed hardware often cannot keep up with that of powerful counterparts on the market. DOOGEE seems to want to distance itself from such compromises in its latest creation. Especially the chic AMOLED display with a size of a proud 6.43 inches looks really impressive in the first pictures.

Thanks to a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, screen contents should come across wonderfully sharp. However, the display on the back of the device is a very special eye-catcher. There is another AMOLED display next to the camera module. The first pictures show the time on the 1.05-inch mini-screen. It is also likely to display messages and other status messages.

Hard shell, powerful core?

The heart of every smartphone is the processor. The DOOGEE V20 does not seem to want to make any compromises here either. A powerful octa-core processor works under the hood. It is supported by 8 GB of RAM. Fast and large storage is obviously also provided with 256 GB of flash memory. The DOOGEE V20 offers a triple camera so that suitable snapshots can be taken during outdoor excursions. The main camera has a resolution of 64 MP and is supplemented by a Night Vision lens (20 MP) and a wide-angle lens (8 MP). Of course, a selfie camera should not be missing either. It has a resolution of 16 MP.

A 6,000 mAh battery is supposed to provide decent endurance. Should it ever run out of power, the manufacturer promises a quick recharge. Fast Charging with 33 watts of power is supposed to take care of this. Despite its thick casing, the DOOGEE V20 can also be charged wirelessly. Up to 15 watts of power are possible via a Qi charging surface. As for the color, you are spoiled for choice between three different variants. Besides “Knight Black”, DOOGEE also offers its V20 in “Wine Red” and “Carbon”. As befits an outdoor smartphone, the V20 is extremely robust according to the manufacturer. It is not only supposed to be waterproof. Even drops should not affect the device. On top of that, DOOGEE emphasizes that the V20 can be used in extremely hot or extremely cold outdoor temperatures without any restrictions.
