With the new Cyber X, Dreame is launching an unusual innovation onto the market: for the first time, an additional module will enable robotic vacuum cleaners to climb stairs independently. The system is initially aimed at models in the X60 series and could significantly simplify cleaning in multi-storey households.
From trade fair concept to market-ready product
The manufacturer had already presented an initial concept at IFA 2025. Now comes the market-ready version of the Cyber X, which, according to Dreame, can handle different types of stairs – including straight, open or spiral staircases.
The module works with special rubber tracks and a multi-stage braking system to ensure a secure grip and controlled movements. According to the manufacturer, the system can master gradients of up to 42 percent and obstacles of up to 35 centimetres.
Directly integrated stair cleaning
Particularly interesting: The Cyber X not only transports the robot hoover between floors, but also takes on cleaning tasks on the stairs itself. To do this, the module has an integrated cleaning system with side brushes and a suction power of up to 6,000 Pa. The collected dirt is then fed directly into the dust container of the connected robot.
Sensors detect steps and obstacles
The system uses modern 3D ToF sensors for orientation, which are designed to precisely detect step edges, obstacles and height differences. This allows the robot to independently manage several floors and plan cleaning routes. According to the manufacturer, up to four floors can be stored and controlled in the app.
Only compatible with the X60 series at launch
However, there are compatibility restrictions at the start. The Cyber X will initially only work with devices from the new X60 series. Older models are currently not supported. The market for stair-climbing robotic vacuum cleaners is currently developing rapidly. Other manufacturers such as Roborock, MOVA and eufy have already demonstrated similar concepts.
However, with the Cyber X, Dreame is one of the first companies to announce a concrete market launch. The sales launch is planned for the second half of 2026. The price of the module is expected to be around 999 euros. It remains to be seen whether the high price and additional space requirements will be worth it in everyday life.
