eero Outdoor 7

With the eero Outdoor 7, Amazon is launching its first Wi-Fi router specially developed for outdoor use. The device is designed to enable stable Internet connections beyond your own four walls – even in extreme weather conditions. Whether garden, patio or remote outbuildings: the new router extends the mesh network to places where conventional solutions often reach their limits. In addition to long range, eero relies on modern WLAN 7 technology and particularly easy installation.

  • Weatherproof WLAN 7 router with IP66 certification for outdoor use
  • Up to 1,390 m² outdoor WLAN coverage per device
  • Over 100 devices can be connected simultaneously
  • Flexible power supply via PoE+ or classic socket outlet

eero Outdoor 7 brings WLAN-7 to the outdoors

With the eero Outdoor 7, Wi-Fi 7 technology is being made available for outdoor use for the first time. The router achieves wireless speeds of up to 2.1 Gbit/s and is therefore not only suitable for classic applications such as surfing or streaming, but also for latency-critical scenarios such as cloud gaming or connecting smart home devices outdoors.

Special attention is paid to mesh integration. Thanks to the in-house TrueMesh technology, the outdoor router works seamlessly with existing eero systems. This is complemented by TrueRoam and TrueChannel, which automatically select the best connection and minimize interference. As a result, the network remains stable even with many connected devices.

With a range of up to 1,390 square meters, a single device already covers large areas. For even larger plots, two devices can be linked together – even over distances of up to 300 meters with a direct line of sight. This opens up new possibilities for supplying garages, garden sheds or separate offices.

Robust, flexible and easy to install

The eero Outdoor 7 has been specially designed for demanding environments. The IP66 certification reliably protects the device from dust, rain and snow. The router also operates in a temperature range of -40 to +55 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for use all year round.

The system is also flexible when it comes to installation. In addition to classic operation via a socket, the router supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE+). This means that power can be supplied directly via an Ethernet cable – a particular advantage for installation locations that are difficult to access. The supplied mounting accessories allow it to be attached to various wall types, while step-by-step instructions and video tutorials simplify the set-up process.

Another plus point is backwards compatibility: the Outdoor 7 can be easily integrated into existing eero networks, regardless of the device generation. An optional eero Plus subscription is also available, which offers additional functions such as extended protection, ad blocking and parental controls.

Conclusion

With the eero Outdoor 7, Amazon is sensibly expanding its mesh portfolio into outdoor areas. The combination of long range, modern Wi-Fi 7 technology and robust construction makes the router an interesting solution for demanding outdoor network requirements. The device is priced at 469.99 euros and is available immediately from Amazon and other retailers.
