EVGA X12: Gaming mouse with 8000 Hz sampling rate, dual sensor and Nvidia Reflex presented

Gaming mice with a sampling rate of 8,000 Hz are becoming increasingly popular. Now, manufacturer EVGA also offers a corresponding nager, which was presented to the public at CES 2022. The EVGA X12 also offers an ergonomic, ambidextrous design, two sensors at once and an integration into the Nvidia Reflex ecosystem.

The EVGA X12 features

The Razer Viper 8k (our review) was one of the first pioneers in gaming mice with a polling rate of 8,000 Hz. Now another manufacturer follows suit and presents the EVGA X12, a comparably fast mouse that also scores with innovative features.

In terms of design, the X12 relies on symmetrical mouse casings. Lefties also have reason to be happy, because even the two thumb keys on the sides are available on both sides and can therefore also be used by lefties. That has rarity value.

It is equipped with a USB 2.0 high-speed 32-bit Arm Cortex-M33 core USB microprocessor, which enables the high sampling rate of 8,000 Hz. The low response time of 0.125 milliseconds is also remarkable.

With a size of 123 mm x 70 mm x 41 mm (length x width x height) and a weight of 75 grams, the EVGA X12 also turns out to be quite compact and light. And that’s despite the fact that it has not one, but two sensors working inside.

EVGA X12 with dual-sensor technology

On the one hand, the gaming mouse uses the optical PixArt PMW-3389 sensor, which brings it to a resolution of 16,000 DPI at 400 IPS speed and 50G acceleration. However, a second sensor is also used.

The LOD sensor (Lift-Off-Distance) allows an individual height for the Pixart’s sensor shutdown. A flexible Paracord USB cable and low-friction PTFE mouse feet for quick reactions and fast movements round out the X12 expertly.

EVGA X12 Dual Sensors

The two main switches are rugged Omron switches that are said to withstand 60 million clicks. There are a full eight programmable buttons in total. There is also customizable RGB lighting in three zones, which is controlled via the EVGA Unleash RGB software. Up to five profiles can also be stored in the mouse’s onboard memory here.

The EVGA X12 gaming mouse also supports the NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer, which allows gamers to accurately measure system latency for the first time.

Price and Availability

Details on the availability and price of the EVGA X12 gaming mouse, which comes in black and white, are not available at this time. The official website only promises a “coming soon”.
