Finalmouse Starlight X relies on new technology for maximum response speed
With the Finalmouse Starlight X, the manufacturer is abandoning its previous design language for the first time in eleven years and presenting a completely new housing design. According to Finalmouse, this has been specifically designed for more stability and more precise control – especially for tactical shooters such as Counter-Strike or Valorant, where the smallest movements and quick reactions can be decisive for the game.
The technical heart of the mouse is the new TMR-DS system (Dual-State Magnetic Resistance). This is an analog click technology that allows extremely precise adjustment of the trigger travel. With an adjustment down to 0.01 millimeters, the system opens up possibilities that classic mechanical switches can hardly achieve.
The technology also supports Rapid Trigger, a feature that is particularly well known from analog gaming keyboards. It allows the trigger point to be reset immediately, enabling particularly fast multiple actions. This puts the Starlight X in direct competition with the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike (our test), which uses similar technology.
The reduction in click latency of up to 35 milliseconds stated by Finalmouse seems very high at first glance, but appears technically comprehensible in the context of older or less optimized reference systems. The officially verified XLAT latency of 223 microseconds, on the other hand, is a realistic and impressive value that places the mouse in the absolute top class of modern e-sports peripherals.
The mouse is powered by the Nordic nRF54LM20 microcontroller, a modern wireless chip specially designed for energy-efficient high-performance applications. This is supported by Finalmouse’s own PerfectPolling and PerfectSync technologies, which are designed to ensure particularly stable signal transmission.
Why the Finalmouse Starlight X could change the premium market
Another highlight of the Finalmouse Starlight X is the new material concept. The housing is made of a specially developed carbon fiber super composite with a density of less than 0.9 g/cm³. The fact that the material can float on water, according to the manufacturer, is physically plausible and above all illustrates the focus on extreme weight reduction.
At just 38 grams, the mouse is one of the lightest wireless gaming mice ever. This value is particularly remarkable because Finalmouse also relies on a reinforced structure with titanium components and additional carbon reinforcements.
Added to this is the new Finalmouse F1 sensor, which was developed exclusively for the Starlight X. Specific technical details are still limited, but given the target group, it can be assumed that the focus here is on maximum tracking precision and minimum lift-off distance.
The combination of a new sensor, extremely low weight and innovative click technology clearly positions the Starlight X in the ultra-premium segment. This makes it particularly appealing to ambitious FPS gamers and e-sports enthusiasts who do not want to compromise on their hardware.
