FOSSiBOT S3: Display and design
Manufacturer FOSSiBOT, which we have so far known primarily for its affordable and powerful power stations such as the F3600 Pro (review, € 1,969.00 *) or the F2400 (review, € 849.00 *), is now also getting involved in the mid-range smartphone market. Having already launched the FOSSiBOT S1 (€ 149.99 *), the company is now following up with the S3.
According to the product images, this has a handsome 6.78-inch AMOLED display, which promises quite sharp images thanks to a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. The display, which comes in a curved design, has a refresh rate of 60 hz and has an integrated fingerprint sensor. The screen edges are pleasingly thin, which is underlined by a screen-to-body ratio of 93.6%.
But one display is obviously not enough for FOSSiBOT. The manufacturer has therefore given the FOSSiBOT S3 an additional second display on the back, which is just under 1.1 inches in size. The additional screen should make it possible to view notifications, control music and use the camera from different angles without having to activate the main screen. This should not only be practical, but also save battery power.
FOSSiBOT S3: Hardware and performance
Under the hood of the smartphone is a MediaTek Helio G85. The octa-core processor manufactured using the 12-nanometer process promises sufficient performance for most users. Coupled with the generous memory of up to 20 GB RAM, the mid-range smartphone should be well equipped for most applications.
In terms of storage space, there is 128 GB. Thanks to the SD slot, however, the memory can be expanded to 1 TB. The device is said to offer an impressive battery capacity, which will give users an extended operating time. Fast charging functions are also expected to make the smartphone ready for use again quickly.
