At MWC26, FRITZ! will be showing how the digital home is evolving with 5G, fiber optics and modern Wi-Fi mesh. New router models for fixed wireless access, powerful fiber optic solutions up to 10 GBit/s and Wi-Fi 7 repeaters mark the next technological leap. At the same time, FRITZ! is already paving the way for Wi-Fi 8 and is focusing on European development, high security standards and sustainable production.
- New FRITZ!Box 6835 5G with Wi-Fi 7 and up to 2 GBit/s via mobile communications
- Fiber optic portfolio up to 10 GBit/s (XGS-PON) including FRITZ!Box 5630 XGS
- FRITZ!Repeater 6700 Pro with quad-band Wi-Fi 7 and up to 18 Gbit/s
- Improved failure protection and Wi-Fi management via FRITZ!OS and MyFRITZ!Net
5G and fiber optics: FRITZ!Box 6835 5G and 5630 XGS as key devices
With the new FRITZ!Box 6835 5G, FRITZ! is addressing the growing market for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). The router combines 5G according to 3GPP Release 16 with Wi-Fi 7 (2×2 on 5 and 2.4 GHz) and achieves download rates of up to 2 GBit/s in mobile communications. Thanks to the USB-C power supply, the device can be operated flexibly – even via a power bank. This makes the 6835 5G suitable not only as a stationary broadband replacement in regions with coverage gaps, but also as a mobile solution for temporary locations.
For fiber optic connections, FRITZ! is presenting the FRITZ!Box 5630 XGS, which supports the XGS-PON standard with up to 10 GBit/s. It is complemented by the FRITZ!Box 5630 for GPON (up to 2.5 Gbit/s) and AON (up to 1 Gbit/s). Both models have Wi-Fi 7 with up to 2,880 Mbps in the 5 GHz band as well as multi-gigabit ports – including a 10 Gbps WAN/LAN connection in the XGS version. This means they are equipped for current and upcoming fiber optic tariffs in Europe.
Fail-safe remains a key feature: FRITZ! Failsafe can be used to automatically switch to mobile communications in the event of faults in the DSL, cable or fiber optic network. This combination of fixed network and 5G ensures high availability – a decisive factor for working from home, streaming or cloud workloads.
WLAN Mesh with Wi-Fi 7 and a look at Wi-Fi 8
FRITZ! is focusing on consistent further development in the area of Wi-Fi Mesh. The new FRITZ! repeater 6700 Pro works as a quad-band repeater with Wi-Fi 7 on 6 GHz, two 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. Theoretically, total data rates of up to 18 GBit/s are possible. Two fast LAN ports (10 Gbit/s and 2.5 Gbit/s) also enable the wired connection of high-performance end devices or NAS systems. For PCs and notebooks, the FRITZ!WLAN Stick 6700 brings Wi-Fi 7 to Windows systems via USB and thus ensures an uncomplicated upgrade.
At the same time, FRITZ! is preparing the next Wi-Fi generation Wi-Fi 8 (IEEE 802.11bn). The upcoming standard is primarily intended to reduce latency, improve efficiency in densely populated wireless environments and optimize cooperation between access points. Upload scenarios such as video conferences or cloud backups should benefit in particular. With upcoming versions of FRITZ!OS, the manufacturer is already providing the infrastructural foundations.
In addition to performance, the focus is also shifting to management. Via MyFRITZ!Net and the TR-369 interface, providers can analyze and optimize Wi-Fi networks remotely. This increases stability in the home network and strengthens customer loyalty. The portfolio is complemented by sustainable manufacturing in Europe and regular software updates to ensure security and durability.
Conclusion: Holistic ecosystem for Europe’s networks
FRITZ! is positioning itself as a driver of innovation for the digital home with 5G routers, fiber optic solutions up to 10 Gbit/s and powerful Wi-Fi Mesh. The FRITZ!Box 6835 5G and 5630 XGS in particular show how mobile communications and fiber optics can be flexibly combined. With Wi-Fi 7 and preparation for Wi-Fi 8, the portfolio remains future-proof. Prices and market launches of the new models will be announced in the course of the year.
