FRITZ!Box 6825 4G: Powerful LTE modem in a compact format
The FRITZ!Box 6825 4G is based on a Category 6 LTE Advanced modem (3GPP Release 10) and achieves download speeds of up to 300 Mbps. This is made possible, among other things, by 2-fold carrier aggregation (2CC), in which two 4G frequencies are bundled to make efficient use of the available bandwidth. With broad multi-band support – both in the FDD and TDD range – the router can be used flexibly throughout Europe.
An integrated alignment aid facilitates optimum positioning for the best possible reception, for example on a windowsill, in a camper or in a vacation home. The compact housing measures 65 x 135 x 98 mm and fits easily into hand luggage or a rucksack. For the first time in a FRITZ!Box, power is supplied via USB-C. This means that standard smartphone chargers or USB-C power banks can be used – a clear advantage for mobile applications without a fixed power socket.
Compared to the 5G models such as the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G or the FRITZ!Box 6850 5G, the 6825 4G is positioned as a more attractively priced LTE alternative. At the same time, it complements existing 4G solutions such as the FRITZ!Box 6850 4G with a particularly compact variant.
Wi-Fi 6, Mesh and security functions with FRITZ!OS
Despite its small size, the FRITZ!Box 6825 4G offers modern network technology. The integrated Wi-Fi 6 transmits in the 2.4 GHz band at up to 600 MBit/s and supports WPA3 encryption for modern security. The setup is complemented by a Gigabit LAN connection for stationary devices such as PCs, smart TVs or consoles.
FRITZ!OS provides numerous convenience and security functions. These include mesh integration for expanding existing Wi-Fi networks, separate guest access, timers for the Wi-Fi and extensive parental controls with time budgets and filter options. VPN connections via WireGuard or IPSec ensure secure remote access.
The support of FRITZ! failsafe is particularly practical: If the primary Internet connection via fiber optics, cable or DSL fails, the FRITZ!Box 6825 4G automatically takes over the connection, provided it is connected to another FRITZ!Box via WAN or LAN. This makes the device suitable not only for traveling, but also as reliable failover protection in the home office or office.
