With the Fronius Reserva Pro, the long-established Austrian company Fronius is launching a new high-voltage battery storage system on the market that is primarily aimed at customers with high energy requirements. Whether a large single-family home, farm or commercial enterprise – the modular storage system can be scaled flexibly and offers an integrated emergency power function. Delivery in German-speaking countries is scheduled for mid-April 2026.
Fronius Reserva Pro: Modular design for high capacities
The Reserva Pro is based on a modular design with stackable battery modules. Each individual module delivers a usable capacity of around 3.98 kWh. Between 3 and 8 modules can be combined per tower, resulting in capacities of 12 to 32 kWh. If you need even more storage capacity, you can operate up to four towers in parallel – this results in a maximum of around 128 kWh. Fronius is thus clearly positioning the storage system in a segment that goes beyond the classic home storage application.
According to Fronius, the modules are simply stacked on top of each other without screws. This should significantly speed up both the initial installation and subsequent expansions. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) is used as the cell chemistry – a cell type that is known for its long service life and thermal safety.
High charging and discharging performance
A key selling point of the Reserva Pro is its high charging and discharging currents. The maximum output current is 50 amps. Depending on the configuration and number of modules, this results in a charging and discharging capacity of between around 10.6 and 28.3 kW. This means that the storage system can also serve power-hungry consumers such as feed milling machines, planers or heat pumps – a clear advantage over many competitor products with lower output values.
The DC coupling ensures particularly efficient energy transfer with minimal conversion losses. The storage system is matched to the Fronius Verto Plus and GEN24 Plus hybrid inverters and therefore fits seamlessly into the existing Fronius ecosystem.

Emergency power function and black start capability
Another highlight of the Reserva Pro is the emergency power function. In combination with a compatible Fronius inverter and a switchover component such as the Fronius Backup Controller, the storage system can take over the supply to the household or business in the event of a grid failure. The system is also black-start capable, meaning it can also start up without grid power and restore the energy supply independently.
Important to know: The emergency power function requires that the other system components (inverter, changeover device) are also designed accordingly. If you want to use the full scope of performance, you must therefore ensure that the overall system is coordinated.
Smart control via AI
Fronius also integrates the so-called Energy Cost Assistant into the Reserva system. This uses AI technology to analyze expected PV production, current energy consumption and electricity prices. Based on this data, the assistant determines the optimum time for charging and discharging the battery. This further reduces energy costs. Users can also control the storage system via the Fronius Solar.web monitoring platform using an app – for example, to charge the storage system from the grid before a storm.

Made in Europe and eligible for subsidies
Fronius emphasizes that both the battery cells and the modules of the Reserva Pro are manufactured in Europe. This is particularly interesting for Austrian customers, as the storage system thus qualifies for the “Made in Europe Bonus” of the Austrian photovoltaic subsidy. In Germany, VAT is waived on battery storage systems as part of the PV subsidy under certain conditions.
Data security is also a top priority: according to Fronius, all customer and system data is stored exclusively on European servers and managed separately.
Price and availability
The smallest configuration with 12 kWh (3 modules) is priced at around 6,000 euros. If you choose the maximum tower configuration with 32 kWh, you can expect to pay around 13,000 euros (including VAT in each case, as of March 2026). Delivery by most dealers is planned for mid-April 2026.
Those who do not necessarily need the high performance values of the Pro model can alternatively opt for the cheaper predecessor Fronius Reserva (6.3 to 15.8 kWh) or models from BYD, which are available from around €4,000 with a comparable capacity.
Conclusion: Fronius Reserva Pro as a storage system for large consumers
The Fronius Reserva Pro is a high-performance battery storage system which, with its high scalability, impressive charging and discharging currents and integrated emergency power function, is particularly appealing to customers with high energy requirements. The LFP cell chemistry, European production and seamless integration into the Fronius ecosystem make the storage system a solid choice – even if the price is slightly higher compared to some competitors. Anyone looking for a complete system from a single source with first-class support will find the Reserva Pro a convincing option.
