Full HD monitor for on the go – AOC I1601P

AOC has released a new 15.6-inch portable monitor for on-the-go use. The AOC I1601P comes with an IPS panel, weighs 800 grams and is suitable for connection via USB-A or USB-C.

Full HD to go

The monitor offers 15.6 inches and thereby resolves in Full HD with 1920×1080 pixels. The connection cable combines both USB-C and USB-A connector types, bringing broader compatibility. The connection cable also supplies the monitor with power. The AOC I1601P consumes 8 watts of power in the process.

Additionally, the monitor supports USB DisplayLink, so the image signal can be transmitted even if the system does not have a DisplayPort alternative mode of USB-C to offer. This only requires a driver, which is provided for macOS, Android, Chrome OS and Ubuntu.

Elegant and practical at the same time

The monitor’s case is made of aluminum and the IPS panel sits securely behind anti-reflective tempered glass. Here, the viewing angle of the display is 170 degrees horizontally as well as vertically, reaches a maximum brightness of up to 220 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 800:1. The color gamut is rather low on the AOC I1601P, so 262,000 colors are supported and the color space coverage of the sRGB color space is 64 percent or 47 percent for the Adobe RGB color space.

Overall, the monitor has a height of 235.2 mm, a width of 376.2 mm and a depth of 8.5 mm. The AOC I1601P comes with a SmartCase, which serves as protection and also as a stand for the monitor. Thus, it can be used either in portrait or landscape mode. The display is then simply adjusted automatically by means of the auto-pivot function.

Availability and price

The new AOC I1601P portable monitor will go on sale in August this year at a price of 239 euros.
