GARDENA presents intelligent robotic mower smart SILENO with LONA technology

GARDENA has presented the smart robotic mowers of the Sileno series, which will provide additional comfort from next year thanks to innovative LONA technology. Features include GPS-supported navigation, individual zone management and real-time positioning in the smart app.

LONA technology

The sonorous name of the forward-looking technology is made up of the words Localisation & Navigation and will make its way into the new generation of smart SILENO city and smart SILENO life robotic lawnmowers from the 2022 season. With the help of the GARDENA smart app, every movement of the robotic lawnmower can be tracked in real time. Mowing areas and times can be set quickly and easily and coordinated with automatic watering within the smart system.

The robotic mowers cut even narrow passages and complex lawns with reliable precision in any weather. Even when it rains, the mower is in action, for a perfectly manicured lawn. Thanks to the low noise level, you hardly notice them when they are on the lawn.

Thanks to LONA, the robotic mower is able to map the entire garden, create a map and use it for its mowing activities. This map is mapped in the GARDENA smart system app so that the user can make numerous other settings here. In addition, different zones can be defined in the virtual map of the garden, for example. For these, the mowing intensity and the frequency of how often the robotic lawnmower is used here can then be set individually. This means that shady areas where the grass grows more slowly can be mowed less frequently or even left out completely.

New look

GARDENA is also giving the look of the smart SILENO city and smart SILENO life robotic mowers an update. The cover of the control panel gets a glossy surface, based on the design of the GARDENA minimo.

The lineup of the new robotic mowers with LONA technology initially includes four models designed for lawns of different sizes. They are all equipped with four wheels each and feature an 18 V/2.1 Ah lithium-ion battery.

Prices and availability

The entry-level model of the new smart robotic mowers goes by the name GARDENA smart SILENO city Set and is recommended for lawns up to 600 m². The manufacturer’s RRP here is 999.99 euros. Above that, the GARDENA smart SILENO live sets position themselves with a recommendation up to 750 sqm (RRP 1,099.99 euros), 1,000 sqm (1,299.99 euros) and up to 1,500 sqm (1,499.99 euros). The new models should soon find their way into the trade.
